Did you know that over 3,000 people in Malta are living with Parkinson’s?

And for many, the challenges go far beyond what we can see.

As part of Parkinson’s Awareness Month, we were pleased to welcome Ms Sarah Bajada together with Hon. Graziella Galea to our Parkinson’s Therapy Centre, as well as to one of our specialised movement classes held at Hilltop Gardens.

Chairperson Alexander Arena, alongside Deputy Chairpersons Adrian Casha and Maria Bella Borg, together with our specialised Parkinson’s Nurse Ana Iqbal, had the opportunity to present the mission of our organisation and share insights into the work we carry out to support individuals living with Parkinson’s and their caregivers.

We thank them for their visit and for their interest in the work we do, as we continue striving to raise awareness and improve the quality of life within the Parkinson’s community 🧡🌷

“Understanding Parkinson’s, Empowering Lives”

That was the theme of yesterday’s educational seminar, which brought together a full house of people living with Parkinson’s, caregivers, and professionals.

It was a meaningful opportunity to share knowledge, experiences, and practical tools, all in recognition of Parkinson’s Awareness Month.

Step Up for Parkinson’s extends sincere thanks to our outstanding speakers: Consultant Neurologist Dr Charmaine Chircop, Physiotherapist Ms Rowanne Bonello Cassar, Specialised Parkinson’s Nurse Ms Anne Fribbens, and Clinical Psychologist and Gerontologist Dr Yaser Teebi. Your expertise and dedication made this event truly impactful.

A heartfelt thank you as well to everyone who attended and contributed to such an engaging and supportive atmosphere. Together, we continue to build understanding, strengthen our community, and empower one another 🧡🌷

“It gave me an acceptance of the beauty of every person… that we are all individuals and we can help each other by being united in something.”

– Denise Camilleri

In our movement classes in Naxxar, we see every day the power of community, support, and connection.
