We cycle around the world to support the renal patients in Malta and Gozo. We also have a sister event known as LifeWalk. participants walk a 100 miles in 4 days. The LifeCycle Foundation was founded in 1999 on the Mediterranean island of Malta in order to create awareness and generate support for patients suffering from end-stage renal disease. Nowadays, a large portion of the money raised goes towards research in trying to determine causes and cures to kidney disease, improving the support systems for patients and raise funds and awareness. LifeCycle has three main aims:

To raise awareness about Renal Disease. To raise funds for the treatment of Renal patients. To increase research into the causes and possible cures for Renal failure. Looking Back: The Calm Before the Storm 🇰🇪🚴‍♂️

The air in the room was thick during our final safety and route briefing in Mombasa.

The first-timers sat quietly and attentively listening to the route breakdown and the guidlines and the veterans just exchanged silent, heavy looks; they knew exactly what was coming.

Meanwhile, you could feel the intense weight on our support team. The realization that starting at dawn, every single mechanical breakdown, medical issue, safety and needs of these cyclists would fall squarely on their shoulders to resolve.

Here’s a look back at the quiet intensity before the fight began.

Here is a short glimpse of what the 2026 LifeCycle Challenge really felt like: breathtaking landscapes, muddy terrain, long undulating roads, remote villages, busy cities, heavy rain, scorching heat, relentless wind and incredible determination.

21 brave individuals signed up for the 2026 LifeCycle Challenge,
3 participants had to medically withdraw during the 17-week training,
18 made it to the starting line,
11 successfully crossed the finish line,
7 gave it their absolute all, however didn't manage to complete the challenge.
🚴‍♂️🇰🇪🇺🇬🇷🇼🌍💪🤝

Through all the Blood Sweat and Gears, an unbreakable team spirit carried us across Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda! We started out as strangers, became friends on the road, crossing the equator twice and navigating two borders together. Then finally, we crossed the finish line as a true family, sharing that humble feeling of accomplishment, genuine comradery and incredible relief.

Every grueling kilometer pushed our limits, but our purpose remained front and center: supporting renal patients in Malta and Gozo.
