What a great video! We have always maintained that in understanding animals and their needs, we gain a better understanding of the complex needs of those around us. Learning to listen to their body language, respect boundaries, and training ourselves to become a safe space, means we become better equipped when dealing with complex human interactions too. When working with vulnerable animals we are training our empathy, patience, and regulation skills. We begin to notice things we may have not been aware of before. We become better communicators, leaders, and more reflexive people as a result.

And just like that, Summer 2024 is almost over! While it was not as active as our typical summers (as we did not host our usual activities), our permanent residents and fosters still needed love and TLC ❤️ Thank you our regular volunteers, family, and friends. We still have rabbits and hamsters in need of forever homes. If you think your home is ready for another little family member, please reach out.

This is our friend, Curry 🐓 ! She is a happy girl who loves cuddles and treats. She was rescued from a roundabout in Marsa when she was little, and now lives a relaxed life with her friends on the farm.

Did you know that what chickens eat can change the eggs they lay? Chickens love munching on bugs (like the mealworms Curry is eating in this video!) and seeds. This helps them lay lots of eggs! To make strong eggshells, chickens need a lot of calcium. They get it from things like crushed shells. Veggies and fruits also help chickens digest their food and stay healthy. Remember, happy and healthy chickens lay the best eggs! 🥚 🐔 🐥
