MLS United built on their league championship with big wins in successive games, blasting Rovers 4-1 last week and annihilating Hellenic Society 8-1 earlier on this morning.

Despite coach Sciberras tinkering with his squad and rotating the formation, the boys in green and black did not skip a beat, going 6-0 up before half time. Winger Sam Barthet scored a double, with Jake Crossey, Luke Mifsud, Andrew Pizzuto and top scorer Peter Khiev all chipping in goals.

After a momentary lapse in concentration in the second half, up stepped club president Matthias Sultana who marked his seasonal debut with a well taken finish from a Pizzuto cross. Pizzuto marks his man of the match performance with a hatrick of assists, serving Khiev for his second goal of the game and a big 8-1 win!

MLS United top the group and move on to the semi-final next week. Come on boys, we are all behind you 💪🏻

On Sunday 12 April, MLS United won their second BOV GIDA League championship in a row, following up their 2025 league win, and pipping Panthers FC by a point on the last day of the season.

The boys in green and black put on a show-of-force against lowly Birnapa, with returning midfielder Michele Sansone giving United the lead after 5 minutes off a Luke Mifsud header. Winger Sam Barthet doubled the lead after being played through by an Aidan Mizzi long ball, and captain Tommy Camilleri marked his man-of-the-match performance with a goal from a Gift assist to close the first half.

As coach Sciberras rotated his forces in the second half, center-back Mizzi added another goal to his tally from a Camilleri corner. The goals kept on coming, with substitute wingers Andrew Pizzuto and Andrew Spiteri getting in on the action to kickstart the league celebrations.

MLS win the 2026 GIDA League season with a whopping tally of 13 wins from 16 games, including an impressive 11 match win-streak from the beginning of the season, along with the best goal difference in the league at 42.

This second league title is the result of the time, hard work and care invested by both the players and administration into this project and is a re-confirmation of the club’s stellar legacy within the GIDA League. A big thank you also goes to our sponsors and Big Exhibits.

Winning trophies is not for everyone, but here at MLS, this is our minimum standard.
Congratulations boys, we are so proud of you and always behind you!

500+ goals later…
100+ players later…
20+ nationalities later…
5 trophies later…
Countless Sunday morning memories later…

Today marks the end of the Malta University Football Club football team’s participation within the GIDA League, drawing the curtains on a successful era filled with victories and memories that began in 2016.

We would be remiss not to thank Antoine Attard, the club’s first president, who founded the team along with a staff of young University of Malta students back in the summer of 2016 and set the foundation for the team’s success in later years. We would also like to thank our second president, Jozef Spiteri , who built upon and grew the team to the force that it is today, and our current president Matthias Sultana who brought in 4 trophies in 4 years for all of his time and dedication to the cause.

A big thank you to our coach, Zach Sciberras, who managed to win 5 trophies over two stints with our club, including 4 trophies in just 3 seasons. We are forever grateful for the care and effort he put in to this team. He was always supported by a strong supporting staff, and the club wishes to thank Kurt Sultana, Benji Flynn, Isaac Curmi, Matthew Pizzuto and countless others for their work, time and input over the years.

Lastly, but most importantly, we want to thank all of our players who donned our black and gold or all white kits and gave up their Sunday mornings to fight and win for our club. We have been spoilt with fantastic football players, and more importantly, respectful young men who gave it their all to win games and trophies for this team. It wasn’t always easy, but I think we did a great job boys.

As the team moves on to newer pastures, we will never forget the early mornings, the excuses, the wins, the goals, the trophies and the brotherhood that we had on and off the pitch. Thank you to all of you who followed the team and supported us throughout these years, we appreciate each and every one of you ❤️

MUSC won their fifth knockout title since their return to the GIDA this morning after an intense battle with rivals Wall Street Club at Melita Grounds.

In-form winger Andy Spiteri gave the boys in black and yellow a dream start when he finished a driven cross by striker Lucas Felipe. Wall Street managed to equalize, but Sciberras’ men immediately responded through a thunderbolt by Sam Barthet to give MUSC a 2-1 lead at the half.

Barthet capped off a man of the match performance with a solo goal in the second half to give MUSC a commanding 3-1 lead at the beginning of the second half. Wall Street managed to make it 3-2 with 20 minutes left, but MUSC defended valiantly to confirm their status as back-to-back Knockout Champions, since the team won this competition in 2023!

All of us at the club want to thank our players, coach, administration and fans for their support and efforts throughout the season that have led to yet another title for the club, it’s 4th trophy in just 3 years.

MUSC close off the season with the Supercup Final this Thursday 27 June against Melita Old Boys.

MUSC won a thrilling semi-final in extra-time against rivals Panthers in the GIDA Knockout Semi-Final at Melita ground.

Despite having several chances to score in the first half, it was Panthers who took the lead before half time. At the half, Sciberras was constrained to substitute captain Jozef Spiteri who suffered an injury with Luke Grech.

MUSC flipped the switch at the half and mercurial winger Jefferson brought the team level with a well taken shot from outside the box. Andy Spiteri quickly added a second with a rocket shot from the right wing to make it 2-1.

Panthers managed to level in the final 5 minutes of the game to take it to extra time. During extra time, MUSC scored one of its best goals of the season, when Lucas Felipe finished off two moments of brilliance by Jefferson and Tommy Camilleri.

The boys in white managed to hold on to the win, that sees MUSC make the final once again, its fourth knockout final since the teams return in 2017!

MUSC will face Wall Street Club in the KO Final next week 23 June at Melita @ 09:30. Come and support our boys 🙏🏻

MUSC put on a dominant display today against league-winners and rivals Melita Old Boys in the quarter final of the Rasan Cup.

Our midfield combined early when Sam Barthet scored from just outside the box off a signature Tommy Camilleri assist. Just 5 minutes later, Barthet ran the length of the field with the ball, and although he couldn’t convert, in-form winger Lucas Felipe was there to pounce on the ball give MUSC an early 2 goal lead.

Melita managed to get one back before the half, but Barthet converted a rare long range free kick to restore the 2 goal cushion going into the half. A well worked team goal in the second half led to Jefferson calmly slotting home a 4th for MUSC who outlasted their opponents to reach the semi final.

Our boys go again in 2 weeks as they look to add a piece of silverware this season in their favourite tournament!

MUSC capped off a positive season with a win against Kamelasa BK this morning. Winger Chris Cutajar put MUSC ahead from the left wing with a well taken goal, only to suffer an equalizer. Andy Spiteri put Sciberras’ team ahead right before the half from the penalty spot.

MUSC kept pressing throughout the second half, and came close to grabbing a third when Jozef Spiteri, making a cameo as left winger, saw his header smacking against the crossbar. The boys in white held on for the win.

MUSC face Melita Old Boys in the Rasan Cup QF in 2 weeks time.

MUSC followed up last weeks 3-0 win over Edex Kings FC with a convincing 5-0 win against America United at Melita Grounds this morning.

Brazilian winger Jefferson gave Sciberras’ team a dream start with a header from a Lucas Felipe corner. Birthday boy Tommy Camilleri made it 2-0 later on in the half with a trademark long-range free-kick, and winger Andy Spiteri rounded out the half with a goal to make it 3-0.

The Brazilian connection sparked again in the second half with Jefferson assisting Lucas Felipe to make it 4-0. Andy Spiteri closed off the big win with a close range effort after a clever assist from debutant Angelo Migliore.

This win essentially confirms that for the third year running MUSC shall place second in the GIDA League. All of us at the club wish to congratulate our friends for Melita Old Boys for their title win, which is well deserved.

MUSC face Kamelasa next week to round up the league season, and move on to the KO competition in June where MUSC shall defend their crown against MOB in the Quarter-Final.

Well done to all the players and staff on yet another positive season - we are all behind you 💪🏻

Our boys in yellow got off to a hot start this morning against Maleth Albion, with midfield maestro Tommy Camilleri netting early to put MUSC in the advantage after a well worked team goal.

His partner in the engine room Liam Grech bagged yet another goal this season to make the score 2-0 before the half with a well taken finish slotted in the bottom corner.

The defence with the least goals conceded in GIDA put on another strong display, keeping a clean sheet before Lucas Felipe smashed home the 3-0 on the counter attack to seal the game, latching onto yet another patented Andy Spiteri assist.

A superb team effort for the win, our boys now look ahead to next Sunday for a clash with top of the table rivals Melita Old Boys.
