For our fifth Blog Post of the year, Martin Bajada examines the fundamental protection of human rights in his latest piece, "Torture Has No Place: The Legal and Normative Significance of Article 3 ECHR"! ⚖️🇪🇺

"In an era marked by shifting political priorities and increasing pressures on human rights institutions, the absolute prohibition of torture under Article 3 of the ECHR stands as a critical legal and moral bulwark. It is not merely a safeguard for the individual; it is a bright line rule that underpins the very integrity of the rule of law." 🌍⚖️

For our fourth Blog Post of the year, Nicholas Kast and Erica Hammenborn explore the complexities of security and deterrence in their latest piece, “The Sovereignty Paradox: Navigating the UK’s Modern Nuclear Dilemma”! ☢️🇬🇧

“This setup creates a fascinating sovereignty paradox: the UK possesses absolute operational independence as only the British Prime Minister can authorise a nuclear strike, yet it is entirely dependent on US technology and facilities to keep the system running.” ⚓️🇺🇸

“While the government continues to use the language of restraint and multilateral arms control, its recent actions clearly prioritise credible deterrence over disarmament in response to a more dangerous, multipolar world.” 🕊️⚔️

Two Mondays ago, we took a step back to slow down, ground ourselves, and get creative 🎨✨ We had the opportunity to make pottery centered around a special theme: communication! 🏺🗣️

Specifically, how we express ourselves and truly connect with others. Getting our hands dirty in clay became a way to reset, reflect on how we communicate, and build deeper understanding 🧠

Sharing this experience and collaborating alongside several amazing partner NGOs made the conversation even richer!

Stay tuned for more events set to release soon! 👀🗓️🔥

For our third Blog Post of the year, our Public Relations Officer Krista Spiteri explores the gap between classroom realities and cognitive science in her latest piece, “The European Mind Reimagined: Overcoming Educational Apathy Through Neuroscience”! 🧠🇪🇺

“We are pining over standardized test scores while ignoring a far more insidious crisis unfolding within European schools: a profound crisis of apathy. Students are physically present, but their minds are entirely disengaged.” 📚✍️

“Until we design an educational ecosystem grounded in the science of the brain, one that values the internal fire of curiosity over the superficial validation of a test score, we will continue to produce generations of beautifully certified, profoundly uneducated youth.” 💡🎓

Want to dive into the full analysis of how aligning pedagogy with neuroscience can transform European education? Visit our Website through the link in bio to read the breakdown! 🔗

A few weeks ago, our JEF Malta delegation traveled to the green hills of Steiermark, Austria, for the Here Comes the Sun youth exchange. ☀️

In a world filled with constant digital noise and screen distractions, this week gave us the rare space to step back, unplug, and engage in genuine, face-to-face dialogue. Through workshops on self-efficacy, critical media literacy, and deep group reflections, we explored how small changes in how we listen and connect can create a big impact. 🔌💬

Beyond the learning, it was a week defined by incredible European friendships, shared moments, and memories we’ll carry with us for a long time. 💚

🎲 Want to experience the unplugged vibe yourself? We’re bringing the spirit of the exchange back home! Check out the link in our bio to join our upcoming Back to Basics: Disconnected Board Game Night.
