Today MIRSA honours women’s ongoing fight for equality. Women’s struggles, however, never exist in isolation. Across the world, war continues to reshape the realities of women’s lives and the forms their resistance takes.

Too often, war narratives portray women only as victims. In reality, women are also workers, caregivers, refugees, organisers, and active participants in political and social life. 💙

Recently, members of MIRSA’s executive team had the opportunity to attend a screening of “The Voice of Hind Rajab” at Spazzju Kreativ, alongside the Ambassador of Palestine and members of .
Organised by the , the screening was followed by a powerful and thoughtful discussion. The film was deeply moving and devastating, and a recipient of multiple awards.

We are grateful for the opportunity to watch the film, engage in conversation, and take part in events that create space for reflection, dialogue, and solidarity. 🇵🇸

Last week, MIRSA had the pleasure of continuing our annual visit to the U.S. Embassy in Malta. 🇺🇸

Together with our executive team, MIRSA members, and other interested participants, we had the opportunity to take part in an insightful hour-and-a-half Q&A session with Ken Toko, Deputy Chief of Mission and U.S. diplomat. The discussion offered a valuable chance to engage directly on diplomacy, contemporary international relations, and the day-to-day realities of embassy work.

Following the discussion, we were given a comprehensive tour of the embassy, both inside and out. This behind-the-scenes experience allowed us to better understand how an embassy functions in practice.

We are very thankful for this opportunity and for the continued openness and engagement of the U.S. Embassy. Looking forward to next year’s visit!
