Oltedo De Rieux! 🇫🇷

Please help us keep our doors open to many more horses. Do we have enough people behind us to hit the first ‘€200’ mark on our Road To 100 Horses fundraiser today ?

We have a feeling Louie (Illustre Blue) overheard the volunteers having a little conversation! 🤣🤣 We were wondering why whoever you believe in that created horses couldn’t have made them a little more independent so they wouldn’t have to rely on humans for absolutely EVERYTHING! 🙈🤣

Maybe then our volunteers wouldn’t be going home every evening with aching backs and the enormous responsibility of looking after so many horses! 🥲

Well we have a feeling Louie took that conversation personally and decided to show us that horses are perfectly capable of looking after themselves! 🤣

We definitely would like to take back everything we said back because as you can see Louie has figured out how to hold the hosepipe in his mouth and fill his own water bucket. The only slight problem is that he has managed to water his entire paddock except where the water is supposed to go! 💦🤣

Ooh Louie! We appreciate the initiative but we think we will stick to relying on humans for the time being! Thank you for ensuring us that we can rely on you whenever we need help 🤣❤️

Good morning! 🌞❤️‍🩹 Time is flying by at the moment especially with so many horses keeping us busy! 🙈 Infact we have only just realised that we are officially on the road to 100 horses coming through our gates this year alone! 🐴😲 We have officially broken all our previous annual intake records and we are still only in October! 🙌🏼

Obviously no matter how exciting it is that we are on the road to 100 horses this comes with a huge expense. Our bills this year has been sky rocket and we haven’t been able to make dead ends at all 🥺 Our goal is to raise €10,000 through all our fundraising before the end of 2026 which will be helping us cover the enormous costs of mainly feed & vet bills 🙏🏼

Our expenses are constantly growing but so is the number of horses needing our help. This year has proven it all 🙌🏼 We have a new arrival on the way today. If he leaves on next truck to UK he will cost us approx €350 to feed. Between 35,000 followers can we raise the first €350 to our Road To 100 Campaign? 🤩

Please donate or share our fundraiser and help us keep going! 🙏🏼 We know we can count on our SCHR followers to help us hit the goal and make the road to 100 horses to enter through our doors this year. We just need less than €1 from everyone 💪🏼

ROAD TO 100 HORSES! We are currently on the road from reaching 100 rescued horses this year alone When Second Chance Horse Rescue first started, we could never have imagined the scale our organisation would grow to. Over the past two years, we have rescued 78 horses annually. Numbers we once thought

Ohh Gio!! 🥺🥺❤️‍🩹

What an absolutely lovely mare we have at the stables looking for a home in the UK! 🇬🇧🏡

4 years old, approx 15.2hh, four white socks and a heart she is ready to give you completely 🥹🤍

Remember the video we posted of a mare giving cuddles back to our volunteers? This is that very same girl! 🫶🏼 We are absolutely in love with her and somewhere out there is a lucky person who will get to call her theirs. Could it be you? ❤️‍🩹

Adoption video will be out tomorrow 🎥🖤

Remember Joyce who arrived all skin and bones last month? Well here she is! ❤️‍🩹😍

She already looks like a completely different mare! She still has plenty of filling out to do but just look at the beautiful girl she is becoming 🥹

Joyce is only 6 years old so literally has her whole life ahead of her and we feel like it’s going to be quite bright ❤️‍🩹 This is her first time out in the arena after we have allowed her to rest in stable Nd just gain weight. Hopefully now we can build up muscle with her and then will see what the future holds for her 🤞🏻

Double Trouble has landed in the UK!! 😇😈

Our darling little boy arrived at his new home over the weekend joining two other Malta babies of ours Ezabiau De Goulet & Elton Ball which we rehomed a few years back for those who remember them! 🙌🏼❤️

This is the first time Double Trouble has experienced cooler weather, green grass under his tiny hooves and space to enjoy himself with his new friends because he was born in Malta which unfortunately we don’t have of these mentioned 🥹

Now although he has been rehomed here is the part we didin’t show much. Companion homes for our little ponies are incredibly difficult to find and Double Trouble had a lovely family waiting. We had two options. We either offer a heavily reduced adoption contribution or let him miss that opportunity and remain in our limited paddocks.

We chose the home. We chose the space Nd the company and the individual attention his new family could give him. His chance at that life mattered more than the amount we would receive ❤️‍🩹

Double Trouble left with probably the lowest adoption contribution we have ever accepted but a smaller pony doesn’t come with a smaller transport bill because his journey still cost over €2,000 leaving SCHR to cover a substantial shortfall 😔

That is the part you don’t always see behind these happy arrival videos. A horse finding a home doesn’t automatically mean their bills are covered. Sometimes we take on another expense because it gives them the future they deserve 🥺

Now Double Trouble has a family to spoil him, two friends to keep him company and his spot in Malta has opened a space for another horse who needs us 🏡❤️ This is what we mean when we ask you to help us help them. Your support gives even those who are harder to rehome a chance and helps us keep the door open for the next one.

Please be on your best behavior little one. We will keep watching you all the way over from Malta!! 😇😈❤️

Please please consider donating towards our charity and help us keep going! Even as little as €1 genuinely helps us 🙏🏼
