31st Mosta Girl Guides

The Mosta Girl Guides are a very active group with both leaders and younger members getting involved in various activities both on Island and District levels. Ever so often the group goes on an international camp as the leaders feel that this is one of the things in Guiding which is just special and an experience for life. In fact over the years they have participated in a number of international

camps , four times in England, Italy, Sicily and Switzerland. Members of the Mosta Girl Guides have been to three of the four World Centres ; Sangam in India, Our Chalet In Switzerland and Pax Lodge in London. They have taken part in conferences and seminars in Malta, France, USA, Israel, United kingdom, Philippines, Spain, India, Belgium, Luxemburg and more. The Mosta Leaders have given service both on National and Local level when needed. As a group the Mosta girl Guides have been nominated for various awards. One member has been a member from day one and has been awarded ‘Gieh il Mosta’ as well as the Chief Commissioners award. KITMAR LODGE is the Head Quarters of the 31st Mosta Girl Guides. The name was given in appreciation to the founders (Kitty & Mary), The Mosta H.Q. for a number of years till the present national H.Q. The number of members registered each year has always put the 31st Mosta Girl Guides among the largest groups on the Island. They thrive to deliver an interesting and varied Guiding programme not only to retain present members but to attract new ones. Dolphins (Ages 4 to 7)
Dolphins have a fun packed programme that helps them develope and learn to think for themselves through games, songs, crafts, stories, outdoor activities and more. Brownies(Ages 7 to 10)
Together with a fun packed and eventful programme, the brownies enjoy a more challenging aspect of the 8-points working in small groups called nests during their weekly meetings and having a lot more fun out of doors. Guides (Ages 10 to 13)
Guides work together in patrols and are encouraged to help plan their own activities. Being a guide helps girls become more responsible, provides an environment to learn new skills and the programme is guaranteed to be adventurous and bursting with excitement. Rangers (Ages 13 to 16)
The opportunities and challenges which are offered with the Malta Girl Guides are numerous and vast. At an early age, these young ladies will learn to make their own decisions, be able to pursue new heights and have fun and meet new people all at the same time. Young Leaders (Ages 16 to 18)
Apart from being able to take part in different activities and opportunities of their own, young leaders also learn first hand what it takes to be a volunteer and the amount of hard work and satisfaction that is required and aquired when providing a fun packed programme for sections in a girl guides unit. Young leaders get to enjoy events, that they themselves have organised and see themselves grow confident and able as time goes by. Leaders (Ages 18 and over)
A Leader's work is very rewarding. Every guiding year you see girls grow older, more responsible and confident human beings. The reward is in knowing that being a leader has helped these girls grow and reach their fullest potential. A leader shares experiences and laughs together with the girls and other leaders.
