ŻAK Mosta

ŻAK Mosta ŻAK Mosta is an NGO which helps young people grow personally, socially and spiritually. Each ZAK group has a regular weekly meeting.

The organisation focuses on working with young people aged from ten years onwards and is a voluntary-based, non-profit organisation. Currently, ZAK consists of approximately 700 members, in 14 different parishes, including young leaders and youth workers. Members from every parish belong to a different youth group according to their age. Therefore a locality might have only one ZAK group, whereas

another may have more. The number of groups and the age range of the group members depend on the needs and resources available. The members under the direction of their youth leaders/youth workers, utilise the allocated time to not only socialise, but also to develop and experience life skills. All this is achieved through structured and unstructured sessions which may take the form of discussions, role-plays, hands-on activities, reflections and games amongst others. ZAK gives utmost importance to the active involvement of its members. At the early stages of the group, especially when the members are still young, most of the planning of the programme of meetings and activities is carried out by the leaders with little involvement of the participants. However, as the group grows within the organisation, the members gradually involve themselves more in the thinking and action process. The leaders’ responsibility is to ensure that the material covered meets the real needs of the young people. Besides the weekly meetings every group organises its own activities. These activities vary from social events, community work, fundraising activities, live-ins, twinnings between different ZAK groups, international exchanges and other educational activities. In addition to these activities, the young members participate in activities organised by other ZAK groups, by ZAK on a national and international basis, by Agenzija Zghazagh, the National Youth Council and by the Maltese Diocese through KDZ.

Throwback għal nhar l-Erbgħa, meta kellna magħna lil Kylee u Leanne, il-President u Viċi President ta' ŻAK Malta. Fil-ħin li kellna flimkien, sirna nafu iktar dwarhom u x'jagħmlu fil-ħajja tagħhom, kif ukoll x'wassal biex aċċettaw ir-rwol li qegħdin fih u kif l-istess rwol jgħinhom ikomplu jikbru bħala persuni u fil-fidi tagħhom. 😇🙏

Il-Ġirja tkompli. 🏃Tiġri waħdek tista' iżda fil-kumpanija dejjem aħjar.

Għaliex minkejja li aħna 'connected' iktar minn qatt qabel, is-solitudini qed dejjem tiżdied?🤔 Ejja magħna ħalli nifhmu ftit iktar.
Niltaqgħu!

Laqgħa oħra għaż-żgħażagħ 18+ fl-Oratorju Qalb ta' Ġesu'.
Kif ngħixu s-solitudni minkejja li jista' jkollna ħafna ħbieb? X'jgħin biex nibqgħu b'saħħitna anke meta nħossuna weħidna?

Ejja nibdew il-ġirja, nhar l-Erbgħa li ġej, fis-7PM fl-Oratorju Qalb ta' Ġesu'. Narawkom! 😁🏃🏃‍♀️

🌍✨ This summer, ŻAK Mosta proudly hosted Digitalised, an international youth exchange with our friends from Slovakia, Belgium, and Belgium! Together, we explored how digitalisation shapes our lives and how our Christian values can guide us in the online & offline world.

Here’s what we did that week:
🔹Redefining technology and acknowledging its ubiquity.
🔹 Facing online risks (sexting, grooming, extortion, self-exposure & AI content) with expert input from Ms Davinia Marie Muscat who works at BeSmartOnline ( ), Malta’s internet safety centre.
🔹 Reflecting on the neutrality of technology - it’s not good or bad, it’s how we use it!
🔹 Understanding the impact of excessive use, recognising the signs, and strategies for balance, again guided by Ms. Muscat.
🔹 Reflecting on our use of social media/screen time and considering Digital Minimalism
🔹 Discussing the dangers of technology through a Christian lens – our relationship with God, creation, others, and ourselves.
🔹 Evaluating our technocratic society.
🔹 Meeting role models who use technology positively and creatively.
🔹 Practicing Christian virtues with technology including prayer, fasting, and charity.
🔹 Reflecting on personal change and what I’ll take with me.
🔹 Looking at our local contexts
🔹Youthpass guidance
🔹 Intercultural evening where each country shared food, games, dances, and traditions.
🔹 Daily prayers, reflections, energisers, and icebreakers led by the different groups.

We leave this exchange with new friendships, new skills, and new perspectives – ready to use technology in a healthier, more meaningful, and faith-filled way❤️

This exchange was funded by the Erasmus Plus programme of the European Union. 🇪🇺
