Marsaxlokk Heritage tappoġġja bis-sħiħ u tixtieq tirringrazzja lill- Marsaxlokk Local Council talli ressaq oġġezzjoni formali għall-zvilupp ippjanat ghall-Aquatic Resources Malta.
Dan is-sit kien diġa ġie identifikat mill-Kunsill bħala spazju għal ġnien pubbliku u jogging track tant meħtieġa. Fi żmien fejn Marsaxlokk qed ikompli jiġi mgħobbi bi żvilupp sfrenat u bla waqfien, nemmnu li huwa essenzjali li tingħata prijorita lill-ispazji pubbliċi u postijiet fejn ir-residenti u l-familji jistgħu jgawdu kwalità ta’ ħajja aħjar.
Dalgħodu wkoll, membri ta’ Aquatic Resources Malta nqabdu fil-fatt ineħħu banner bil-kliem “BINJA LE … ĠNIEN IVA”, li jirrifletti b’mod ċar it-tħassib tar-residenti. Azzjonijiet bħal dawn juru sens ta’ intitolament inkwetanti u nuqqas sħiħ ta’ rispett lejn il-vuċi u t-tħassib tal-komunità lokali. Fil-każ li l-vuċi tar-residenti tkompli tiġi injorata, Marsaxlokk Heritage, flimkien ma’ diversi NGOs, se tibda timmobilizza lir-residenti sabiex il-komunita tkun tista tinstema.

Marsaxlokk Heritage fully supports and would like to thank the Marsaxlokk Local Council for formally objecting to the planned multi-storey Aquatic Resources Malta facility.
This site had already been identified by the Council for a much-needed public garden and jogging track. At a time when Marsaxlokk continues to face relentless development pressures, we believe it is essential to prioritise open public spaces and areas where residents and families can enjoy a better quality of life.
This morning, members of Aquatic Resources Malta were also caught red-handed removing a banner reading “BINJA LE … ĠNIEN IVA”, which clearly reflects the concerns of residents. Such actions demonstrate a troubling sense of entitlement and a complete disregard for the voices and concerns of the local community.
Should residents’ voices continue to be ignored, Marsaxlokk Heritage, together with other NGOs, will begin mobilising residents to ensure that the community’s concerns are heard and respected.
