So, the results of yesterday's shakedown are a worn O ring on the push/pull shaft of the power steering arm - a nice red pool dumped into the bilge. Luckily, I fitted a duel power steering and hydraulic steering head back in 2011, when I originally installed the 41's (engines). This means that by simply removing the belt from the crank, the power steering pump will no longer have pressure to spew ATF (Automatic Transmission fluid) into the bilge.

Whilst power steering is a nice to have the boat can be handled just as well by the hydraulic system. The removal of the steering will have to be a winter job, so much will need to be disturbed to get at it.

Also, I thought that I had added weight to the boat so I opted to used the A7 props this year - big mistake. Both engines quickly and easily managed 3500rpm which achieved only 13.5 kts. So, the boat was under propped - anyway, the stainless steel C6's will return next year or even this year if I can.
