Scouts Teaching Skills – Learning by Doing!
Last Wednesday, our Scout Troop had the pleasure of spending the day with students attending SkolaSajf, where our scouts took on a different role – becoming the teachers!
Through a series of fun and interactive sessions, our troop members shared some of the practical skills they have gained through Scouting, including:
🧭 Map & Compass – learning basic navigation and how to find their way
🪢 Knots – discovering useful knots and putting them into practice
🩹 First Aid – learning essential skills that can help in an emergency
⛺ Tent Pitching – working together to successfully set up a tent
🔥 Fire Safety – understanding basic fire safety, how to respond safely in case of fire, and first aid awareness for burns
The activity formed part of our project focusing on SDG 4 – Quality Education and SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth.
While the SkolaSajf students experienced learning outside the traditional classroom, our own scouts developed valuable skills in leadership, communication, teamwork and responsibility by planning, demonstrating and teaching their skills to others.
A big thank you to SkolaSajf for welcoming us and to our scouts who helped make the activity possible!
