The Older Persons Standards Authority, regulates geriatric services by ensuring the well-being and rights of older persons through the promotion of quality care, inclusivity and a supportive environment. # # of 2023, the Authority is set to achieve its goal both through support and regulation, wherein the service user, as well as the service provider, will be actively involved in the ongoing process of standards development and improvement.

Earlier last week , the Well-Being and Outreach Team, together with the Chief Executive Officer of the Older Persons Standards Authority (OPSA), held an informative and engaging outreach session with local councillors responsible for older persons.
The session provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the Authority’s role and responsibilities, while exploring potential avenues for future collaboration between OPSA and local councils association.
This initiative aimed to strengthen community partnerships, raise awareness about the Authority and its services, and enhance support for older persons in residential care homes within local communities.

Yesterday, the Well-Being and Outreach Team within the Older Persons Standards Authority (OPSA) held a successful outreach session with Community Police Officers.
The session provided an opportunity to raise awareness about the Authority, its role and responsibilities, and the services it provides to safeguard the well-being and quality of life of older persons.
It also highlighted the importance of collaboration with Community Police Officers, who play a valuable role in supporting and engaging with members of the community.
