On Tuesday 2nd Dec AOPA is discussing whether a sophisticated automated autopilot should replace the human pilot from the cockpit?
Considering the recent computer glitch which sent an A320 into a nose-dive, are we introducing a new system error which could potentially over-ride pilot's flying skills?
If you want to attend and need an airport visitor's pass, please call AOPA President on 9990 1262 to secure a place.

AOPA is discussing an important topic "Auto Pilot vs Human Pilot".
We are pleased to have Capt Alessandro Muscat and Capt Nigel Dunkerley to discuss the following issues.
With the introduction of AI and Aircraft Manufacturers introducing more flight automation, is it wise to reduce the flight crew from 2 to 1 in the cockpit?
With more automation are we running the risk of introducing a whole new series of problems in the cockpit?
Will a full automation system reduce the flying skills of the pilot?
Is the old computer adage " garbage in, garbage out" still applicable to flight computers?
Can a sophisticated computer system replace a human brain to solve real problems?
These and many more questions will be discussed on Tuesday 2nd at 1830 at AOPA premises.
If you wish to attend but you are not an AOPA member, please call the President on 9990 1262 to secure a place.
