๐ฒ๐น The Training Camp for Athletics Maltaโs Platinum Young Athletes comes to an end in Cles, Italy. ๐ฎ๐น
Six days of training, learning, challenges and experiences for a group of boys and girls aged 14 to 17, designed to develop far more than just athletic performance.
On the track, our young athletes worked on mobility, running mechanics, footwork, hurdles, sprinting, throws and strength alongside Maltese coaches and specialist Italian coaches.
Away from the track, the development continued.
๐ง Flying Tree Top Adventure Park challenged confidence, courage and problem-solving.
๐ Rafting demanded teamwork, communication, decision-making and responsibility.
โฐ๏ธ A mountain hike to 2,200m tested resilience, determination and the ability to support one another.
Because the long-term vision of our Youth Technical Committee goes beyond developing faster and stronger athletes.
At this important stage of their development, our aim is to use sport to help shape better individuals โ young people who are resilient, responsible, independent, coachable and proud to represent Malta.
Performance matters. But the person behind the performance matters even more. ๐ฒ๐น
A special thank you goes to our dedicated local coaches Kevin Galea, Jeremy Spiteri and Luca Falzon, whose commitment and work were instrumental throughout the camp, together with our Technical Consultant Antonio Laguardia and Italian specialist coaches Giorgio Ripamonte and Sergio Bounvecchio, for sharing their knowledge, expertise and experience with our young athletes.
Better athletes. Stronger individuals. One team. ๐ฒ๐น
