📣 Join us for this year’s Pro-Choice Rally, taking place on Saturday 26 September at 5pm. The event will begin with a march from Castille Square, ending at St George’s Square, where we’ll have speakers, the feminist choir Re-Sisters and others.

💜 This year’s theme is “Hey sis! Thinking of you!” We chose this theme because, while the State continues to ignore women and people who can get pregnant, women are supporting and helping one another, both practically and emotionally.

Women in Malta have built a community that refuses to leave anyone behind. This rally will be a celebration of that solidarity, and a call for abortion to be decriminalised in Malta.

Let’s be the big sister that someone needs. 💜

Last night at the screening of Dead Calm, Neil and Carla spoke of the Maltese context and local cases relating to delayed rescues, lack of transparency and the new "normal". One thing emerged clearly: nothing asbolves states from carrying out their duty to save human lives at sea. Nothing❗

Ben Steele's gut-punch BBC documentary 🎬 Dead Calm: Killing in the Med? (2024) investigates the human cost of migration policies in the Med. It uncovers evidence of the Greek coastguard abducting, abandoning, and even throwing asylum seekers into the sea to prevent them from reaching Europe.

🌈 A first in Malta! In 2016, we assisted a teenager to have their gender legally changed under Malta's landmark Gender Identity, Gender Expression and S*x Characteristics Act.

⚖️ This milestone came after we collaborated with the Malta LGBTIQ Rights Movement to support Joanne Cassar's case before the European Court of Human Rights for the legal recognition of her gender.

🏳️‍🌈 From drafting and advocating for the Gender Identity Act to helping individuals access their rights, Aditus has been fighting against institutionalised transphobia for years💥
