Malta Football Players Association Established in 2011, MFPA serves as the exclusive collective bargaining representative for all players affiliated with the Maltese Football Federation.

The Malta Football Players Association serves as the exclusive collective bargaining representative for all current players affiliated with the Malta Football Association. Formed in March 2011, the Association ensures protection of the rights of all football players playing in Malta, while also promoting their best interests. The MFPA is locally affiliated with SportMalta, recognised by the Malta

Football Association and also registered with the Office of the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations. Internationally the MFPA is a full member of FIFPro which is the worldwide representative organisation for professional football players.

Caine played for Pembroke Athleta, San Gwann, Zebbug Rangers, and Mqabba among others.

📚⚽ Recent MFPA Player Sessions

Players from Hibernians FC Women , Swieqi United Football Club and Santa Lucia Football Club recently took part in a number of MFPA initiatives focused on education, player welfare and preparation ahead of the new season.

🛡️ Say No to Doping & Match-Fixing focused on helping players understand integrity-related risks and their role in protecting clean and fair football. Thank you to AIMS - Authority for Integrity in Maltese Sport for their collaboration and support.

🎙️ Dealing with the Media, delivered by Kevin Azzopardi, gave players practical tips on communicating confidently and professionally with the media.

🩺 Players also underwent the mandatory medical tests required by the Malta FA ahead of the start of the league. An important initiative aimed at supporting players both on and off the pitch, while helping clubs meet the necessary requirements ahead of the new season.

Raymond “Il-Mundu” Vella’s transfer to Ħamrun Spartans 🔴⚫️

After establishing himself as one of Marsa’s standout players, interest from Malta’s top clubs followed. Eventually, Ħamrun Spartans made their move, bringing Il-Mundu to the club.

Marsa later agreed to the transfer following discussions with supporters, and the deal was completed for a then-record Lm8,000.

It proved to be a hugely important move for both player and club, with Il-Mundu going on to become a major figure in one of Ħamrun Spartans’ most successful eras. 🏆
