When we nominated him for National Volunteer of the Year, it was because he truly deserved it. From the beginning of Centru Tbexbix, even before the inauguration, he worked tirelessly to see it materialize. He lived next door, and he took upon himself the responsibility of being our guardian. We will never forget the hard days of the renovation, and how many stones and building material he carried himself to save us some money. Unless he was in hospital, not one day would pass when he didn't come and check that all is clean and in order, lights off and doors closed. All our programme participants have at some point come across his genuine desire to help and support the most vulnerable.
Thank you Leli for being the gentleman that you were. You left an indelible mark at Centru Tbexbix.

A day to celebrate.
Today marks the 20th anniversary of our project, two decades of service to the Cottonera community, fostering inclusive education, social wellbeing, and community solidarity.

Over the past 20 years, Centru Tbexbix has provided non-formal education programmes for children, adolescents, families, and the elderly, responding to local needs with care and continuity. Our work includes social support services, family therapy, and educational activities grounded in ethical values and vegetarian principles.

The centre’s impact has been strengthened through the contribution of local and international volunteers, including participants from the European Solidarity Corps, who have brought skills, energy, and intercultural exchange.
The dedication and contribution of Centru Tbexbix to the community it serves have been recognised with various awards, among them the Social Impact Award, Voluntary Organisation of the Year and Best ESC project of the Meditarranean.

As Centru Tbexbix celebrates this milestone, it reaffirms its commitment to education, compassion, and community development for the years ahead.
