He lives in loops. Nothing dramatic. Just the same few thoughts, on rotation. He knows something’s wrong. He’s known for a while. It’s fine. He’s looked at it. Considered it. Decided it can wait. No advice here. No fixing. No big turning point everyone talks about. Mostly just sitting. Thinking about changing things. Not doing that. Still here. Surprisingly consistent.

𝗜 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱.

So I sat down.

To prepare.

Then I needed a break from preparing.

Very reasonable.

The mugs waited.

The forest waited.

The coffee waited.

I did not.

I was already emotionally unavailable.

Coffee’s nearly on the counter.

Every sign pointed away.

Every lion avoided the forest.

Nobody could explain what was inside.

Some said it was dangerous.

Some said it was cursed.

Most had never seen it.

Roar looked at his compass.

It pointed straight into the trees.

He checked it again.

And again.

For a while he wondered if it was broken.

Then he noticed something.

The signs were old.

The stories were older.

And every warning came from a lion who had never entered.

Roar stopped asking.

The moment he trusted the compass…

every sign lost its authority.

𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱.

𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐦𝐲𝐭𝐡.

For years I thought discipline meant:

waking up early…

doing difficult things…

being consistent…

The secret was embarrassingly simple.

𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭.

𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆.

Tell everyone:

“I’m working on myself.”

“I’m building habits.”

“I’m getting my life together.”

If somebody asks how it’s going…

become mysterious.

Say:

“Big things are coming.”

But never actually do anything at all.

I have now achieved elite-level discipline…

without making a single move toward it.

𝗔 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗿, 𝗮 𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁.

Apparently that’s when they plan to start.

I saw someone carrying a dream.

Looked heavy.

I asked how long he’d had it.

“Years.”

I asked when he was starting.

“One day.”

Fair enough.

Still carrying it when I saw him last week.
