Today (April 16) is World Voice Day 🗣️

Our voice is a powerful tool for connection and communication. The Voice Committee of the IALP invites you to join the World Voice Day celebration 🎉

What is World Voice Day?
Established in 1999 (originally as Brazilian Voice Day), this event is a global celebration dedicated to the phenomenal importance of the human voice in our daily lives. The mission is to encourage people of all ages to care for their vocal health and adopt good voice habits.

For hashtag , the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery is focusing on the theme "Caring for Our Voices!"

Whether you are a professional voice user, a singer, or simply using your voice every day, here are some tips to protect your voice:
✅ Hydrate: Drink 8-10 cups of water daily to keep vocal folds lubricated.
✅ Vocal Naps: Take regular breaks to let your vocal folds recover from vibration.
✅ Warm-Up: Use gentle humming and lip trills with pitch glides before starting your day.
✅ Listen: If your voice changes or feels strained for more than two weeks, seek professional care!

🌍 The IALP Voice Committee is devoted to advocating for voice care worldwide, including our collaboration with the World Health Organization.

Today, on World Autism Awareness Day with the 2026 theme "Autism and Humanity: Every Life Has Value," we are once again reminded that inclusion in communication sciences is not optional; it is fundamental.

This year's WAAD observance, organized by the Institute Of Neurodiversity (ION) with United Nations support, calls on everyone to move beyond deficit-based models and build systems that recognize the inherent dignity of autistic people.

We encourage our members, professionals, and partners to:

🔵 Challenge misinformation
🔵 Champion neurodiversity in policy and practice

IALP is opening its second call for applications for the Membership Support Fund (MSF), created to make IALP membership accessible to individuals and professional associations in low- and middle-resourced countries.
