To be eligable for enrolment interested parents / guardians need to fill and sign an application for the child and return to the HQ on triq il-Gradilja. Please wait until the child is at least 6 years old before filling in an application. Headquarters opens normally on: Tuesday (8-9.30pm), Wednesday (6.45-8.15pm) and Friday (6.30-8.30pm)
Once we have your application and we are in a position to a
ccept new members we will call you or email you. Please be aware that the group is restricted by the adult to child supervision ratio and have limited number of adult volunteers. This means that at a certain number of members we cannot continue to enrol new members. Children who have formally applied via the application form will be on the waiting list and the group will enroll them at first oppurtunity. From 7 to 11, they will be in the pack section and meet every wednesday from 6.45 to 8.15pm. From age 11 to 15 they will be in the troop section. They have a weekly meeting every friday from 6.30 to 8.30pm. There are also sections for person aged 15 to 18, and persons aged 18 to 25. During the meetings children follow thier respective age appriopriate program. They learn about knotting, first aid, mapping, hiking, campfires, citizenship and other scout related. We also organise activities like outings to historic places, hikes, treasure hunts, swimming, camping and cookouts. Whilst we still do thing like marching, flag breaks, duties and try and instill good habits scouting is not about harsh discipline or behaviour reform. With regards uniform there is the activity wear which consist of a hat, t-shirt for summer and hoodie for winter and group scarf and then there a full formal uniform for parades consisting of pants, shirt, beret, belt and other accessories. We allow the children a 4 week trial period before insisting on buying the uniform or paying membership fee to see if they want to stay. The membership fee is currently 100 euro per year collected as 50 euro per 6 months.
