2025 We Will Never Forget: Field of Heroes Commemoration - Freedom Walk & “We Will Never Forget” Ceremony Program

On September 11, 2001, the world changed forever. Thousands of lives were lost, but in the face of tragedy, extraordinary courage shone through. First responders — firefighters, police officers, medical teams, and countless others — ran toward danger when others were running away. Their bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit made them heroes that day, and they continue to be heroes every single day as they protect and serve our communities.

Through the Freedom Walk and the “We Will Never Forget” Ceremony Program, our community came together to honor their memory, their service, and their legacy.

We were deeply moved by the messages shared by Pastor Fred Fatialofa, Brooke Nevitt (NPS/AMP), Jerry Tan (CEO & President of Tan Holdings), Governor David Apatang, and Joshua Wise (Chairman of the American Red Cross), reminding us that while tragedy may bring darkness, it also reveals the strength of unity and compassion. No one is ever alone when we stand together.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in remembering the victims, honoring the heroes of 9/11, and recognizing the everyday heroes who continue to keep us safe. Together, we will never forget.

Proclamation Signing: “We Will Never Forget” Field of Heroes Month 🇲🇵🇺🇸

Today, Acting Governor Karl King-Nabors proclaimed September 2025 as "We Will Never Forget: Field of Heroes Month." 🇲🇵🇺🇸

As we mark the 24th anniversary of September 11, we honor the lives lost, pay tribute to the bravery of our first responders, the military, and community heroes, and reflect on our community’s resilience that continues to unite us. 🎖️

U.S. flags will be displayed throughout September at American Memorial Park on Saipan, Veterans Memorial Park on Tinian, and Melchor Mendiola Leadership Park on Rota— symbolizing courage (red), purity (white), and vigilance (blue). 🇺🇸

Together, we remember, honor, and give thanks for the sacrifices made and the service that continues to protect us all. 🤝
