For 72 years, our Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands continues to celebrate our precious gift of freedom during the islands’ largest community and family event, CNMI Liberation Day Festivities. This year, at the request of the Saipan Mayor’s Office, a group of local longstanding businesses and public partners are leading the nonprofit 2017 CNMI Liberation Day Committee and are organizing
a two week celebration from June 24 to July 4, 2017 at the Garapan Fishing Basin honoring the courage, valor and sacrifices of our armed forces and highlighting our heritage, cultures and traditions that make us who we are today. The 2017 Liberation Day Festivities aims to bring the celebration back to its roots of family and community. This year's theme "Celebrating Culture, Community and Service focuses on culture, arts, traditional foods and practices that will be highlighted throughout the main event from the booths, games, Royal Court and the July Fourth Parade. Happy Liberation Day, CNMI!
