Our first testimony in 2026 is none other than Dominque Chua!

Dominique arrived in Macau in 2008, never intending to stay. What began as a spontaneous job application turned into a life rooted in service and community. From childhood, Dominique was immersed in Church life—altar server, lector, catechist—and that devotion only deepened abroad. In Macau, he became a pillar of the Filipino Catholic community, eventually leading the Pastoral Service Commission.

His faith matured from memorized doctrine to a lived experience of love and trust. He describes faith as “divine providence,” a constant presence that shaped his choices and sustained him through transitions. The Church became his comfort zone, and the Filipino ministries his second family. Through daily Mass, ministry work, and shared prayer, Dominique found not just belonging—but purpose.

Dominique’s journey is marked by gratitude. He calls himself “spoiled by God,” recognizing blessings even in hardship. During moments of grief, like the loss of his grandmother, it was the Church community that lifted him—offering prayers, messages, and solidarity. These small acts of kindness revealed the depth of spiritual support available to migrants far from home.

He believes God’s love knows no borders, and that service is not obligation but a response to love. His message to fellow OFWs is clear: faith is not just for Sundays—it’s a daily anchor. Through trials like the pandemic and the challenges of overseas life, Dominique’s story reminds us that hope is real, and grace is always within reach.

Introducing one of the emcees for the World Day of Migrants and Refugees 2025! Ms. Aira Shayne Benas 📣

Aira’s childhood was split between Macau and Abra. In Abra, she remembers the heat, the simplicity of life, and the fear that came with election season—where politics could turn violent.

“You grow up knowing that even leaders can order people to kill. It makes you realize early how fragile life is."

Back in Macau, life felt different. There were circumstances around her stay that often made her feel nervous as a child. That fear shaped her early years, but so did the Church and with prayer as a constant in her life. Encouraged by her cousins and their mother, she joined the youth ministry

"I joined the youth ministry with my cousins—Nicole, Michael, and Raphael. Their mom, Tita Ayra, was the one who encouraged us. That’s how I found my place in the Church. It wasn’t just about serving; it was about belonging."

Over time, Aira’s understanding of faith deepened. What once was anxiety about jobs, decisions, and direction became a calm trust in God’s providence. She learned to believe that even a mustard seed of faith could move mountains.

“Faith changed me. Now, even in a storm, I can be calm. I know God has my back”

Mentors like Kuya Doms grounded her in prayer, teaching her the words that became anchors in uncertain times. Today, she carries with her the wisdom of Deuteronomy 31:6: “Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” For Aira, faith is no longer just belief—it is courage, resilience, and the quiet assurance that God always has her back.

“Life abroad can be scary. But like they say—do it scared. God will never leave you."

Today we thank God for the gift of priesthood as we congratulate Rev. Fr. Felipe Bacalso on his 35th Sacerdotal Anniversary.

We thank you for all the years you have walked with us not just as a shepherd but as a friend. You’ve lifted our hearts with your music, lightened burdens with your jokes and laughter, and reminded us that holiness can wear a smile.

Thank you for showing us that faith doesn’t have to be solemn to be sincere-it can sing, it can laugh, and it can love deeply.

Congratulations and Happy 35th Sacerdotal Anniversary Fr. Felipe!
