I hope my classmates can take a moment to truly appreciate all the coaches we have now. We are already very fortunate to have coaches teaching us. During the pandemic, we had no foreign coaches at all. Now we have Brazilian coaches, Thai coaches, and Filipino coaches, and this is something we should not take for granted. We really need to make the most of every training opportunity we have.
I often remind myself that we should cherish the people in front of us, because one day they may no longer be there, and by then it may be too late to learn from them even if we want to. My first Muay Thai master passed away in his sleep when he was only in his early sixties. His passing taught me that you never know whether you will still have the chance to learn from someone tomorrow. That is why I hope everyone will treasure every learning opportunity and every coach who is willing to teach us.
Coaches do not only teach us skills; they also give us their time, patience, and experience. We should show our gratitude through our attitude, our discipline, and our effort in every training session. Let us not wait until we lose someone before we realize how much they meant to us. Instead, let us appreciate our coaches today, train seriously, and make every session count.
