Halftone Halftone - MACAO PHOTOGRAPHIC ASSOCIATION aiming to promote photography as an art form from all angles.

Program (2021-2022)
a) Publish "Halftone Magazine" quarterly (three issues per year), being the first number to be published in 2021, and support the launch and promotion of photography books of the members. b) Create and update the Association's website as major tool to promote Halftone's activity and image, in strict articulation with related social media. c) Create a regular "podcast" and “talks” program, focused on all relevant and multiple aspects pertaining to photography and on the promotion of the work of renowned photographers and artists. d) Create a photography-training program for members and other interested, as well establishing protocols with external entities in particular schools, to promote the general interest for photography. e) Promote a yearly photography exhibition in a public space in Macao, based on outdoors, further to promoting other photography exhibitions by Halftone's associates. f) Celebrate "The World Photography Day" on ways to be proposed by the Board of Directors, in order to promote photography amongst the community. g) Implement a “Photobook Club of Macao” and integrate it into its international counterparts.

HALFTONE EXHIBITION’26” - OPEN CALL

HALFTONE invites all associates to submit a photographic record to be shown in “HALFTONE EXHIBITION’26”, to be held in FUNDAÇÃO RUI CUNHA (FRC), Macau, from 1st December 2026 to 12th December 2026.

We invite Halftone’s members to participate with:
• One photograph, framed, FREE THEME.
• maximum of 1,00 meters on its largest size.
• Option of artwork to be available for purchase. Kindly note that should the artwork be sold, FRC will charge 15% of selling price.

SCHEDULE & DELIVERY
1. Up to 31st October 2026 – Response to this Open Call and reception of visual proposals. Each applicant should send to Halftone Association (email: [email protected]), duly identified:
• proposed photography file, in no less than 300dpi/inch (.tiff or .jpeg) high quality format), photo display dimensions and title, if any.
• Proposed selling price, if applicable

2. Up to 20 November - Production of the framed print by each participant.

3. Up to 28th November - Delivery of the framed print in Rui Cunha Foundation Gallery (10.00 AM to 1,00 PM – 2.30 PM to 7.00 PM).

4. 1st December, by 6.30 PM - exhibition opening.

5. 12th December - exhibition closing.

6. 14th December – collection of non-sold photographs by each participant.

All are welcome to participate in this exhibition and support the Halftone Association!

HALFTONE | OPEN CALL — “Unexpected Macau”

Halftone launches its OPEN CALL for the October exhibition at ARTM’s Gallery, Ká Hó, Coloane. Members may submit up to four framed photos (max 40 cm), themed “Unexpected Macau”. Artworks must be for sale, with at least 25% of proceeds donated to ARTM.
