Cancellation of Chinggis CUP International Dog Show, 19-20 September 2026
Dear Owners, Exhibitors, Friends of the MKF,
After careful consideration and consultation with the relevant authorities, the MKF has concluded that it is impossible to responsibly organize the Chinggis CUP International Dog Show (with overseas participants expected) due to the ongoing fuel supply crisis currently affecting Ulaanbaatar and other parts of Mongolia. Since mid-July, Mongolia has been experiencing a significant shortage of petrol supplies as a result of disruptions in imported fuel availability. As the country relies heavily on imported petroleum products, current supply constraints have led to widespread shortages, long queues at fuel stations, and uncertainty regarding fuel availability. This situation is expected to continue through the month of September.
In response to the situation, the Government of Mongolia and municipal authorities have introduced a number of temporary emergency measures to preserve essential fuel supplies and manage transportation demand. These measures include:
• Temporary restrictions on vehicle movement based on license plate numbers (odd-even traffic regulations);
• Limits on the quantity of fuel that may be purchased during each refuelling transaction; and
• Prioritization of fuel distribution for essential public services and critical sectors
These circumstances have created considerable uncertainty regarding transportation logistics for judges, exhibitors, event officials, service providers, and participants traveling both within Ulaanbaatar and from other regions of Mongolia and from overseas.
