💙🌏 Happy International Day of Friendship! 🌏💙

Today we celebrate the power of friendship to connect communities, inspire kindness, and create positive change.

At Soroptimist International Gold Coast, friendship is at the heart of everything we do. Through shared purpose, compassion, and service, we have built lasting friendships that cross generations, cultures, and borders. Together, we support women and girls, strengthen our local community, and stand alongside our Soroptimist sisters around the world.

Friendship reminds us that even the smallest act of kindness can make a lasting difference. A listening ear, a helping hand, or simply being there for someone can change a life.

Today, take a moment to celebrate the friends who have supported, encouraged, and inspired you. Reach out, reconnect, and let them know how much they mean to you.

Here’s to friendship, understanding, and a more peaceful and compassionate world. 💙

Education, Empower and Enable our Mission

Reviewing the grass roots projects undertaken by our dedicated members, one clear theme rises to the top: Health & Well-being (SDG 3).
Clubs have delivered over 85 dedicated projects that have directly reached more than 96,000 women and girls
Why Health
Behind every statistic is a person.
As a community of on the ground volunteers, We see the young student missing school because she lacks basic hygiene products or adolescent health education. We see mothers starting over in shelters who need maternal support and dignity care packages. We see young people silently battling invisible mental health challenges without a safe space to speak up.
Our focus is so passionately because health is the foundation of empowerment. A woman or girl cannot pursue an education, build a career, or lead in her community if her basic physical, mental, and reproductive health needs are left unmet.
What We Do!
Our members roll up their sleeves to create real, tangible change through:
• Mental Health & Youth Empowerment: Running workshops on adolescent health, boundary setting, and breaking the stigma around invisible illnesses.
• Maternal & Newborn Support: Partnering with local hospitals and refuges to deliver essential "Mums and Bubs" care kits and emergency supplies.
• Preventative Health & Awareness: Raising critical awareness for women’s health issues, from ovarian cancer campaigns to hygiene equity drives.
The Impact & Benefits
• Restoring Dignity & Confidence: Essential care packages and hygiene supplies ensure women feel valued and supported during their hardest moments.
• Breaking Barriers: Health education and wellness support keep girls in school and women engaged in their workplaces and communities.
• Building Resilient Communities: Healthy women foster healthy families and thriving, supportive networks.
Every kit packed, every workshop delivered, and every dollar raised moves us closer to a world where every woman and girl has the support she needs to thrive.
Our organisation exists because of our fantastic members who volunteer to make this life-changing work possible!

SI Ulaanbaatar Club Members Conduct "No Apology" Training at Erkhembayan Erdem Secondary School
On April 3, 2026, SI Ulaanbaatar club members Yo. Dorjsumiya, R. Enkhtuul, G. Chimgee, E. Zolzaya, and S. Sugarmaa conducted a "No Apology" training session for 28 students in grades 10 and 11 at "Erkhembayan Erdem" Secondary School, which is affiliated with the University of Finance and Economics.
The training covered several key themes, including improving sexual education among adolescents and youth, helping students recognize and understand the differences between friendship, companionship, and romantic love, guidance on appropriate conduct, and strategies for avoiding and overcoming negative influences in the pursuit of their dreams and goals.
At the conclusion of the session, students completed an evaluation questionnaire reflecting on the training. They also received and signed a pledge of abstinence — a personal commitment to refrain from sexual relations until marriage. Each student kept one copy for themselves and entrusted a second copy to a close and trusted person to witness and safeguard on their behalf.
