Tsagaan Sar, the Mongolian Lunar New Year, is a magical time filled with anticipation and joy as families prepare to welcome the arrival of spring. This year, Tsagaan Sar falls on the 10th of February. From cleaning their homes to donning new clothes, each task is imbued with a sense of renewal and hope.

The aroma of traditional dishes like steamed dumplings fills the air as loved ones gather to share in the festivities.

Elders are honored with heartfelt respect, and homes are adorned with symbolic offerings of dairy products, symbolizing prosperity and abundance for the year ahead. Visiting relatives and friends brings people closer together, fostering bonds that endure through the seasons.

Amidst the celebrations, the sound of traditional music and dance fills the air, adding to the joyful atmosphere. Tsagaan Sar is more than just a holiday; it's a time for reflection, gratitude, and strengthening the ties that bind us all.

Ps: This is our catalpa tree planted in Belgium in 2018. Growing beautifully over the years, serving as a living symbol of growth, strength, and connection. It's a testament to the enduring friendship between two cultures.

Short story of “our dream”

G***t Talpe and Etienne Kaesteker fell in love with Mongolia after chance encounters with helpful individuals in Mongolia and Belgium. They learned about the country's culture and economy and made friends and partnerships along the way.
Despite G***t's passing, Etienne continues their dream through the Katalpa Fund, which aims to preserve Mongolia's culture and help its young people.
