Mr. Eland R. Mann, CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia (AmCham Mongolia), held an introductory meeting with Mr. Irmuun Demberel, Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Development Center.

The meeting focused on exploring potential areas for future cooperation, attracting foreign investment, and improving Mongolia's business environment.

As a member of the Economic Development Council under the Prime Minister of Mongolia, AmCham Mongolia represents the interests of the private sector, investors, and the wider business community. The Chamber has been an active member of the Council and a valued partner of the Center in advancing the country's economic development.

The newly appointed Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia (AmCham Mongolia), Mr. Eland R. Mann, paid a courtesy visit to the Economic Development Center (EDC) for an introductory meeting.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on future areas of cooperation, attracting foreign investment, and improving the business environment.
AmCham Mongolia is a member organization of the Economic Development Board under the Prime Minister of Mongolia. Representing the private sector, investors, and business community, AmCham Mongolia has been one of the active members of the EDC and a valued partner in advancing economic development.

Member Update | Orano

Orano Group Reaffirms Long-Term Commitment to Uranium Exploration in Mongolia

Orano Group, through its subsidiary Orano IMP Mongol Resource LLC, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mongolia's National Geological Survey. The signing took place on October 16, 2026, during the GIMAR 2026 conference.

The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation in geology, hydrogeology, and exploration research. It also sets out the scope of joint projects and programs, and lays the groundwork for future cooperation agreements between the parties.

The agreement reflects Orano's confidence in Mongolia's geological potential and its long-term commitment to uranium exploration in the country. By working with national geological institutions, the company aims to deepen its understanding of Mongolia's geology and support responsible exploration practices.

Ms. Coralie Prin, AmCham Board Member and Director of Mining Operations in Mongolia, Orano Group noted "Orano has operated in Mongolia for many years, guided by partnership and mutual trust. This MoU reaffirms our long-term commitment to Mongolia and our determination to work alongside government institutions to advance knowledge of the country's geological potential and support the development of its mineral resources."

AmCham Mongolia CEO - Mr. Eland R. Mann spoke with Bloomberg TV Mongolia about the country's investment climate and AmCham's work to promote a transparent, predictable business environment, one shaped by private sector input in both lawmaking and practice, as a path to restoring investor confidence.

"Building trust and confidence between businesses from and to America has always been the organization's goal for the past 15 years," Mann said. "Mongolia still remains as a viable investment destination, and our primary mission is what it was from day one: to champion the private sector's voice in developing the economy."

Closing the interview, Mr. Mann noted that investors are waiting for a steady stream of positive signals before returning, though notable challenges persist. "The interest is still there," he said. "We must focus on resolving the problems, so that investors can return
with confidence and renewed optimism."

"AmCham serves as a bridge between the public and private sectors. Our goal is to help shape policies that attract responsible investment, support Mongolian businesses, and create win-win outcomes for investors and the people of Mongolia."
