Google's digital skills aren't just changing how companies operate—they're transforming Mongolia's entire business landscape.
In an exclusive interview by Posted.mn with GundHoldings' CEO J. Bat-Ireedui, the article explored how and Workspace are driving real results: automating market research, detecting insurance fraud with 30-40% greater accuracy, and accelerating investment decisions.
When Gund Investment Holdings decided to transition their entire operation from traditional systems to Google Workspace, they knew they were taking on more than just a software migration. They were undertaking a fundamental shift in how their people work, collaborate, and solve problems.
The journey hasn't been seamless. When the company began moving more than a dozen separate operations to Google Workspace, they encountered resistance. Most employees had spent years working within Microsoft-based systems. Changing those ingrained habits proved to be the real challenge, not the technology itself. But by committing to a long-term vision and prioritizing cultural change over quick fixes, Gund Investment has transformed that challenge into competitive advantage.
Real Problems, Real Solutions
What makes their story compelling isn't just that they adopted new tools—it's how they're using them to solve concrete business problems. The company has implemented AI across three critical operational areas.
First, market intelligence. Previously, one analyst would spend an entire week manually gathering external market data for the executive leadership. Now, using Gemini AI, that same task is automated. Weekly market summaries that once took five days now take minutes, giving leadership fresher insights and freeing the analyst to focus on deeper analysis and strategic thinking.
Second, fraud detection in insurance. Insurance companies face constant pressure from fraudulent claims—a problem that demands careful human review but also consumes enormous resources. By implementing algorithmic solutions, Gund Investment improved their fraud detection accuracy by 30 to 40 percent, protecting both the company and legitimate customers while reducing the manual workload.
Third, investment decision-making. The due diligence process—evaluating potential investments, assessing risks, preparing reports—traditionally consumed weeks of time. Using Gemini and NotebookLM to prepare initial analyses, they've compressed that timeline to days. In a fast-moving business environment, that speed matters. It's the difference between capturing an opportunity and watching it pass.
Culture First, Technology Second
What's instructive about Gund Investment's approach is their understanding that technology is only as powerful as the organization's willingness to change. The CEO emphasized that implementing new systems requires more than installing software—it demands a shift in mindset, in habits, and in organizational culture.
This philosophy extends beyond operational efficiency. Gund Investment has intentionally modernized its governance structure while preserving family business values. They've brought in professional management and applied rigorous corporate standards, yet maintained the core principles that have guided the family for decades. It's a balance that many family businesses struggle with, but one that, when achieved, creates genuine sustainability.
The company draws inspiration from global examples—particularly Japan's family businesses, some of which have operated continuously for over 1,300 years. Longevity, they argue, comes not from resisting change but from managing it thoughtfully, grounding innovation in enduring values.
