🌿 We invite you to register for a one-day, in-person workshop on impact evaluation for MEA Members only.

📊 The workshop introduces how different approaches assess the effects of interventions, covering methods from large-n designs such as randomised controlled trials and quasi-experimental approaches to small-n methods like contribution analysis and process tracing.

🧩 It will also explore how to choose the most appropriate method, outline data requirements, and present practical examples.

🎓 The session will be led by Howard White, former founding Executive Director of the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation and previously head of the impact evaluation programme at the World Bank Independent Evaluation Group. And Professor Howard now serves as Senior Researcher for the Research and Evaluation Centre (REC) in the UK.

The 4-week hybrid capacity building training for Tsaatan Indigenous People in Mongolia has been successfully completed, with 10 participants gaining foundational knowledge in Indigenous Evaluation. Participants included Tsaatan Indigenous community members alongside local participants from Khuvsgul Province.

Conducted under the “Germinating the Capacity of Tsaatan Indigenous People in Mongolia” project implemented by Mongolian Evaluation Association /MEA/ with the support of EvalPartners, Asia Pacific Evaluation Association - APEA & , the training focused on equipping participants with practical skills and context-sensitive evaluation approaches. As a key outcome, participants developed mini evaluation plans addressing pressing social challenges within their communities.

This initiative marks an important step toward strengthening local evaluation capacity and amplifying indigenous perspectives. Empowering Tsaatan evaluators contributes not only to community-driven solutions but also to raising broader public awareness of Indigenous Evaluation practices in Mongolia.
