Rotary Myanmar’s First Relief Mission to Lay Myet Nar

On 16 August 2026, Rotary Myanmar, Rotary District 3350, and Rotary and Rotaract Clubs from across Myanmar and Thailand united for the first Rotary Myanmar relief mission to support communities affected by the Lay Myet Nar floods.

Through this collective relief response, 1,000 Emergency Flood Relief Boxes were prepared, transported, and distributed to families and communities in need. 🤝

The successful mission was made possible through strong coordination and collaboration with Hinthada DC U Hlaing Htun and RCRA CP Aung Ko Win, who provided valuable local coordination and support ahead of the mission.

Special appreciation also goes to RCCY P Nay Min, who helped organize, pack, and transport the relief supplies and personally accompanied the mission, as well as Ko Gwato from Hinthada, who kindly hosted the team for dinner.

Rotary Club of River Ayeyarwady — 2nd Installation Ceremony

The Rotary Club of Dagon Myanmar (RCDM) was honored to join the 2nd Installation Ceremony of the Rotary Club of River Ayeyarwady, held on 15 August 2026 at Novotel Yangon Max Hotel.

It was a wonderful evening celebrating Rotary fellowship, leadership, and the continued commitment to Service Above Self.

🎉 Congratulations to President Peter Han Lin Aung as he begins his term of leadership. We wish you and your Board a successful and impactful Rotary Year filled with meaningful service and greater community impact.

🏢 RCDM Visits RCGY for Its New Office Opening

Celebrating Fellowship, Partnership & A New Chapter

The Rotary Club of Dagon Myanmar (RCDM) was delighted to join the Rotary Club of Greater Yangon (RCGY) for the warming and opening of its new office, held alongside RCGY’s regular monthly meeting.

RCDM was honored to celebrate this meaningful milestone together with fellow Rotary leaders and members. We deeply value the fellowship and strong relationships shared among Rotary Clubs, which create opportunities for collaboration and greater community impact. 💙

During the meeting, President Charles of RCDM, President Daniel, and President Peter of RCRA also briefly shared their joint initiatives and upcoming collaborative projects, highlighting ways for members to participate, contribute, and support these initiatives.

We extend our warmest congratulations to RCGY on this exciting new chapter and our sincere appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to our Club.

Our special appreciation goes to Dr. Zin Mar Oo, Director of TEF, for her generous support in providing RCGY with a fully furnished office space, creating a strong foundation for the Club’s continued growth and service.

🤝 Strengthening Partnerships for Greater Community Impact

Rotary Club of Dagon Myanmar (RCDM) was pleased to convene a productive meeting with the Rotary Club of Myanmar (RCMY) and the Malaysia Association Myanmar (MAM) at Victoria Hospital this afternoon.

CP Sandar Aung Steber, Charter President of RCDM, met with PE Dr. Aye Aye San of RCMY and President Lay Goon of MAM for a fruitful two-hour discussion focused on strengthening collaboration and exploring opportunities for joint initiatives involving MAM, RCDM, RCMY, and Victoria Hospital.

The meeting provided a valuable platform to exchange ideas, identify areas of mutual cooperation, and explore meaningful healthcare and community service opportunities that can create greater impact for the community.

3-Day Online Fellowship Training

The Rotary Club of Dagon Myanmar (RCDM) was honored to have our President, President Charles Aung STEBER, serve as a Guest Sponsor and Speaker at the “Service With Love: The Growth of a Leader” 3-Day Online Fellowship Training.

🎙️ During his session, President Charles shared insights on Rotaract Information & Introduction, Rotary–Rotaract Relations, and the Future of Rotaract, emphasizing the importance of strong Rotary–Rotaract collaboration, mentorship, leadership development, and creating greater opportunities for young leaders.

The training was led by Sayar U Thein Soe, Executive Director of the Rotary Club of River Ayeyarwady, and organized by Rotaract Bangkok Global Connect, Rotaract Club of Yangon, and Rotaract Club of Mandalay.

🌟 Inle Ecosystem Restoration & Environmental Collaboration

On 11 August 2026, Rotary Club of Dagon Myanmar (RCDM) met with MESDI at Sedona Hotel to discuss opportunities for collaboration in environmental conservation, ESG, forestry, and ecosystem restoration.

A key focus was the Inle Ecosystem Restoration Project, planned for October 2026, under the Saving Inle Lake – Post-Disaster Environmental Assessment and Rehabilitation Plan. The initiative aims to restore the health and resilience of Inle Lake through:

🌱 Catchment Reforestation – restoring degraded hillsides with native species to reduce erosion and protect watersheds.

💧 Sediment Control – stabilizing riverbanks and slopes through bio-engineering and green infrastructure.

🚜 Dredging Planning – prioritizing dredging to restore channels, improve water flow, and enhance lake depth.

🌿 Water Hyacinth Management – promoting sustainable removal, utilization, and prevention strategies.

🔬 Ecological Monitoring – monitoring water quality, biodiversity, and ecosystem health to guide adaptive management.

The meeting also discussed RCDM joining MESDI as a membership organization, RCDM inviting MESDI to monthly meetings focused on ESG topics, developing an MOU, and planning a Forest Conservation Forum.

RCDM is committed to strengthening partnerships and supporting practical, long-term solutions that protect Myanmar’s ecosystems, communities, and natural heritage. 🌏💚

☕ Trustee Breakfast Roundtable | RCDM

The Rotary Club of Dagon Myanmar (RCDM) was honored to participate in an exclusive Breakfast Roundtable with Rotary Foundation Trustee Rotarian A.S. “Venky” Venkatesh, Trustee of The Rotary Foundation (2026–2030) and former Rotary International Director.

Held on 10 August 2026 at Pan Pacific Yangon, the roundtable brought together Rotary Club Presidents and Rotary Foundation Committee Chairs from Rotary clubs across Myanmar for an informal dialogue to exchange ideas, share experiences, and discuss the future of Rotary in Myanmar.

The discussion focused on key areas including:

🎯 Rotary International Strategic Priorities – Increasing Our Impact
🤝 Membership Growth & Engagement – Increasing Our Reach
💙 Strengthening The Rotary Foundation – Doing Good in the World
🌏 Opportunities & Challenges for Rotary in Myanmar

The roundtable also provided an important opportunity for Rotary leaders in Myanmar to share their achievements, aspirations, opportunities, and challenges, while gaining insights from Rotary’s global leadership.

RCDM sincerely thanks the Rotary Club of Yangon and President Rtn. MD Ko Ko Latt for organizing this meaningful roundtable and for kindly inviting RCDM to participate. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to connect with fellow Rotary leaders, exchange ideas, and learn from Trustee Venky’s insights and experience.

👏 Rotary & Rotaract Clubs of Myanmar Unite for Joint Flood Relief Response🎖️

Rotary and Rotaract Clubs across Myanmar, with the support of Rotary Club of Dagon Myanmar (RCDM) and led on the ground by RACDM Charter President Rachel, joined forces for a coordinated flood relief response on 7–8 August 2026.

🌊 1,065 households supported across multiple flood-affected villages and relief camps.

* 523 households reached on Day 1 through land- and water-based distribution.
* 542 households reached on Day 2 through boat-based, door-to-door relief delivery and relief camp support.
* 5 small water purification machines provided.
* 500 pieces of clothing distributed.

The response was made possible through the collective support of Rotary and Rotaract members, RCDM, partner organizations, Community Service Clubs from private and international schools, long-term humanitarian partners, friends, and individual supporters.

Under RACDM CP Rachel’s on-the-ground leadership, the team reached communities that remained isolated by floodwaters, ensuring relief supplies were delivered directly to families in need.

The joint response will continue, with further assistance planned for Upper Myanmar from 16–18 August.
