The primary goal of the project is to restore and protect 2,065.87 hectares of degraded mangrove forests. The mangrove restoration and livelihood improvement activities of the project are implemented in the three village tracts of Magyi, Thabawkan, and Thaegone in Ayeyarwady Region. In this project, approximately 9.1 million new mangrove plants are plan
ted as additionality on the degraded mangrove lands.
đđđŤđđ¨đ§ đđđŤđ đđđŹ:
The crediting period is 15th June 2015 to 14th June 2035. Over this 20-year crediting period, the restored mangroves of the project contribute to the GHG emission reductions and removals, which is estimated as 3.6 million tCO2e in total with an annual emission of 184,006 tCO2e.
đđđ§đđđ˘đđ˘đđŤđ˘đđŹ:
WIF also contributes to poverty alleviation and livelihood improvement for the targeted local communities in which there are 2,482 households with 10,896 population in 16 targeted villages under the aforementioned three project village tracts. Major livelihood activities are income generation, cash for work, awareness raising and improving knowledge, life skill and vocational training, financial support activities, and revolving funds.
