Together in service, stronger in impact 💛

RCCY, in collaboration with RC Yangon South, successfully distributed 1,000 food packages to 1,000 community members—each package containing 2kg of rice, 1kg of beans, and 1 bottle of cooking oil to support families in need.

A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated members of Rotaract Club of DBU and Interact Club of Central Yangon for joining hands with us in making this initiative possible. Your energy and commitment truly embody the spirit of service above self.

One Year On. Our Commitment Continues.

Today, we remember the lives impacted by the Sagaing earthquake and the strength shown by communities in the face of devastation.

In the darkest hours, members of the Rotary Club of Central Yangon stepped forward, not just as volunteers, but as first responders, delivering emergency relief, food, medical support, shelters, and clean water to thousands affected by the disaster.

But our story did not end with emergency response.

Over the past year, our commitment has continued through rebuilding efforts restoring water stations, homes, supporting hospitals, and reconstructing schools, including the ongoing rebuilding of Basic Education School of Kyeemyindine, in Mandalay to give children back a safe place to learn and dream again

This recap is not just a look back at what we did. It is a reminder of what we stand for.
Service above self.
Action when it matters most.
Hope that continues long after the headlines fade.

Today we remember.
Today we honor.
Today we recommit.

Rotary for Water 💧

Water is the fundamental, essential for all life, health, and ecosystems. It allows food production, sanitation, and economic activity, while its scarcity poses risks from pollution and climate change. The lack of access to clean water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene resources is one of the world’s biggest health problems — and one of the hardest to solve.

In Myanmar, access to water in many rural areas is a critical, chronic issue, with several millions population needing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) assistance due to severe seasonal shortages of water, contamination, and the impact of climate change.

The primary water sources for many rural areas are groundwater (from tube wells and shallow hand-dug wells), rain-fed village ponds (often rehabilitated), and surface water from rivers/streams. Roughly 80% of villages rely on groundwater for daily needs.

RCCY Team has being consistently making visits to communities around Nyaung U, Kyaukpadaung, Inle Lake and Ayawaddy Delta over previous years, met the communities and local resources, and finding the best possible solution to provide access to clean water.
Between 2023-2026, RCCY has completed 10 solar-powered water projects in Bagan-Nyaung U Township, Mandalay Region and 2 installations of water purification systems at Pantanaw Township, Ayawaddy Region.

Understanding the needs, we are grateful that Osaka South Rotary Club has generously donated 2 solar-powered water projects for Sal Lan Village and War Khin Gyi Village, Nyaung U Township in collaboration with Rotary Club of Central Yangon. President Takahiro Shinkai, Board Members and Rotarians of Osaka South Rotary Club visited Myanmar and together with President May Myat Mon Win, Board Members and Rotarians of Rotary Club of Central Yangon made a visit to Bagan Nyaung U on 27th February 2026. During the visit, 2 completed projects were handed over to the village patrons and representatives and MOU was signed between the community and 2 Rotary Clubs.

Together we serve to transform challenges into opportunities, building resilience, transforming communities and ensuring sustainable development for communities. Together, we unite for good !

Our water project initiatives support the following UN Global Sustainable Development Goals –
SDG # 3 Good Health, Well-being
SDG # 6 Clean Water & Sanitation
SDG # 11 Sustainable Cities & Communities
SGD # 13 Climate Action
