🚍 YBS bus fare and waiting times
Reducing waiting times and increasing operational efficiency are crucial and require ongoing attention and development to make the public transportation system more dependable and comfortable for passengers.
According to the survey findings:
● 78% considered the current YBS bus fare to be reasonable and affordable.
● 49% reported typically waiting 5 to 15 minutes for the bus they intend to take.
● 37% stated that they usually wait between 15 and 30 minutes before their bus arrives.
Regarding current bus fares, most respondents considered them to be reasonable and affordable. However, some respondents pointed out that the waiting time for the buses is often too long, resulting in inconvenience and longer travel times. Most respondents also recommended that the bus running times or hours should be further extended.
From 14 June to 18 June 2026, the PACE-Myanmar Team conducted a survey of YBS users’ experiences through face-to-face interviews with 3,360 commuters at 140 bus stops across 28 townships in Yangon.
