MGMA Particiated as Election Supervisory Commission for MRGMA Executive Committee Election, 2026–2029

The Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA) served as the Election Supervisory Commission for the Executive Committee Election of the Mandalay Region Garment Manufacturers Association (MRGMA) for the 2026–2029 term, held on September 27, 2026, at Win Unity Hotel, Mandalay.

The ceremony commenced with opening remarks by U Kyin Htun, Chairman of the Election Supervisory Commission, followed by remarks from U Tin Latt, Chairman of the Mandalay Region Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MRCCI). U Tun Tun, Secretary of the Election Supervisory Commission, then explained the electoral procedures to the participants.

The MRGMA Executive Committee for the 2026–2029 term was duly elected through a systematic and transparent balloting process.

Following the election, the newly elected MRGMA Central Executive Committee and Executive Committee members introduced themselves individually. Daw Lay Mon, newly elected Chairman of MRGMA for the 2026–2029 term, delivered remarks of appreciation and gratitude. The event concluded with a commemorative group photo session.

Occupational Safety & Health Management System Training (One Day Training)

Occupational Safety & Health Management System Training (One Day Training) was held on September 24th, 2026 at Asia Link (Myanmar) Fashion Co., Ltd. at Thardukan Industrial Zone, Shwepyithar Township organized by Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA).

In this training, Labour Officers from MGMA conducted the training and presented Basic concepts of Occupational Safety and Health, Occupational Safety and Health Laws, Roles & Responsibilities, Workplace Hazards and Prevention in Garment Industry, Risk Management System, Occupational cleanliness and waste management, Occupational safety and Health Management System, Emergency Preparedness, Fire Safety, Electrical Safety, Chemical Safety, Occupational Health Hazards and ways to prevent, Building Good habits/Practices & Auditing with open discussion and Q&A session.

Total (16) participants from Occupational Safety & Health Committee Members of Asia Link (Myanmar) Fashion Co., Ltd were attended the training and awarded certificates.

7th MGMA Members’ Day

The 7th MGMA Members’ Day was held on 18 September 2026 at Pacific Ballroom, Pan Pacific Hotel, organized by Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA).

At the beginning of the program, participants had the opportunity to visit the commercial booths featuring by MCB Bank as of the Platinum Sponsor; GSCS International in the Gold Sponsor; Power Light Solar with the Silver Sponsor; Wagon Link Co., Ltd. presented as the Event Partner and Rover X Travel and Tour took up the VLCA Award Sponsor.

The program commenced with opening remarks delivered by U Aye Tun, Vice-President of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI). This was followed by the screening of the MGHRDC Documentary, highlighting the journey and development of the Myanmar Garment Human Resources Development Centre (MGHRDC).

Following the documentary screening, MCB Bank, the Platinum Title Sponsor, presented its banking services and solutions to the participants. The “Implementing Strategic Actions of MGMA (2025–2026)” documentary was then screened, showcasing the Association’s strategic activities and achievements during the period.

Subsequently, Daw Khine Khine Nwe, Secretary General of MGMA, presented the VLCA Award selection process, explaining the assessment and selection criteria.

VLCA awarded by KM Healthcare Myanmar Co.,Ltd and Sen Ma Te (Myanmar) Apparel Co.,Ltd and Myanmar Dongtai Garments Co.,Ltd, in recognition of their achievement as “Best of Full Compliance.” Representatives from the awarded factories then shared their experiences and best practices in achieving compliance with VLCA requirements and expressed their appreciation.

U Myint Soe, Chairman of MGMA, delivered closing remarks and expressed his appreciation to the sponsors, partners, members for their support and participation and took group photos in final warp up.

The event was attended by the Vice-President of UMFCCI; the Chairman, Vice-Chairmen, CEC/EC members of MGMA, delegates from Garment Cluster Associations and representatives from MGMA member factories. Participants enjoyed performances by singer May Sweet accompanied by the Golden Arrow Music Band. The event concluded on a lively note with a series of lucky draw activities, providing an enjoyable and memorable experience for all attendees.

Garment HR Management Training (Batch– 2)

Garment HR Management Training (Batch– 2) was held on 2026, August 14 and 21, September 11 and 17 at Myanmar Garment Human Resource Development Center (MGHRDC), organized by Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA).

This training is the one of the activities of training and development in Employer’s Package that is a service package developed by MGMA for the employers in the labour intensive manufacturing industries.

In this training, Senior Labour Officer of MGMA, U Min Soe Han presented understanding garment industry and government policies, recruitment and employment, workplace rules and disciplinary actions, work hours, payment of wages, social dialogue, workplace relations and dispute resolutions, freedom of association, understanding Multi National Corporations and Global Unions, Certification, Credentialing and Supply Chain Management, How to Higg guide for Higg Facility Environmental Module (FEM), amfori BSCI system manual, SA8000:2014 Standard, Writing policies and procedures with group work, activities, general discussion and Q&A session.

Central Executive committee of MGMA, U Tun Tun gave closing remarks and awarded certificates. Total (11) participants were attended the training.

MGMA has been implementing its 2025–2034 Strategic Plan through five Working Group Committees. These committees have been actively holding regular monthly meetings to support the implementation of the Strategic Plan.

15th Social Compliance and Sustainable Development (SC&SD) Working Group Committee Meeting, 17th Industrial Relation & Public Private Partnership (IR&PPP) Working Group Committee Meeting, 15th Supply Chain Development (SCD) working group meeting were held on September 10 at MGMA Meeting Room (902). 17th Productivity and Human Resource Development (PDTY&HRD) working group meeting was held on September 10 at MGHRDC.

Inspection and Quality Control Training Batch-2

Inspection and Quality Control Training Batch-2 conducted from August 17 to 28,2026 at the Myanmar Garment Human Resources Development Centre (MGHRDC), jointly organized by Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA), Maple Trading Co., Ltd. and Myanmar GF Co., Ltd.

The training was officially held with opening remarks delivered by Daw Hnin Thet Mon, Executive Committee Member of MGMA, Daw Nyein Nyein Aye, and Daw Thida Nwe. The training program covered essential topics including the qualifications and competencies required for Quality Control (QC) personnel, fundamental QC principles and regulations, necessary inspection tools and equipment, garment inspection methods for all styles and items, quality management and control systems, garment inspection procedures, and basic operational standards. In addition, other relevant industry knowledge and practical insights were shared through both theoretical and hands-on sessions conducted by experienced trainers from Maple Trading Co., Ltd. and Myanmar GF Co., Ltd.

At the closing ceremony, closing remarks were delivered by U Ye Khant, Central Executive Committee Member of MGMA, Daw Nyein Nyein Aye, and Daw Thida Nwe. Total (25) participants attended the training, and completion of certificates were awarded.

MGMA Organizes Myanmar Pavilion at Apparel Sourcing Paris 2026

The Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA) organized the Myanmar Pavilion at Apparel Sourcing Paris 2026, with the participation of Myanmar garment manufacturers and support from Messe Frankfurt (Paris).

The exhibition was held from August 31 to September 2, 2026, at the Paris Le Bourget Exhibition Centre in Paris, France. Newest Garment Co., Ltd., Shwe Sakar Co., Ltd., and Lat War Co., Ltd. participated as exhibitors, while MGMA also presented an institutional booth showcasing the Myanmar garment industry and Made in Myanmar products.

MGMA has been organizing the Myanmar Pavilion at Apparel Sourcing Paris since 2014, with the support of Messe Frankfurt. Over the years, the exhibition has served as an important international sourcing platform, providing opportunities for Myanmar garment manufacturers to connect with buyers, sourcing professionals, and industry stakeholders from Europe and around the world.
