Animal Street Rescue Yangon We are a group of volunteers who work for stray animals in Yangon, Myanmar. We focus on rabies vacci

Animal Street Rescue Yangon was started by Dr. San Yi Htet in 2013. Dr. San had personally rescued dogs on the street for many years, and then got other volunteers involved. Today we are a small group of 4-5 people who all do this for the love of animals. There are many dogs and cats in poor condition in Yangon, and we can only help a few. This is why contributions from the local community as well as travellers is highly appreciated. For these animals, confinement is not an abstract concept it is their everyday reality.

They can feel fear. They can feel comfort. They want to live.

What happens to animals in slaughterhouses is often hidden from our everyday view. These animals are individuals who want to live, not products waiting to become food.

A mother’s bond with her babies is powerful. These animals feel fear, love, attachment, and distress just as many of us do.

No mother should have to face the fear of being separated from her babies. Animals are not commodities; they are sentient beings who deserve compassion, protection, and a life free from unnecessary suffering. ❤️🐾

If we believe family matters to us, shouldn’t we care about animal families too?

A mother’s love doesn’t disappear just because her child belongs to another species. 🐷💔

Imagine watching your child being treated as food. Would the pain feel any different because they were born with a snout instead of a human face?

Animals feel fear, attachment, pain and the desire to live. They don’t need to be human for their lives to matter.
