Teach for ASEAN started in May 2017 in Yangon. T4A shares the vision in promoting impactful volunteerism across ASEAN.

We strive to improve educational equity and access to employment opportunities for disadvantaged communities in the region. Teach for ASEAN (T4A) was started by a group of young, passionate people in Singapore who want to connect ASEAN Youths, grassroots organizations and good businesses together to attain the common vision of improving equity in education and access to decent employment. We pilot

ed in Yangon, Myanmar in May 2017, and have since been working with organizations and individuals from different sectors to provide good education and employment opportunities for our beneficiaries through community events and training programmes. Ultimately, we strive to be a network of people, resources, and impactful ideas across ASEAN to achieve our Mission. T4A is supported by Care Positioning System, a non-profit, volunteer-driven social enterprise in Singapore that strives to improve the quality and impact of volunteerism for volunteers and beneficiaries all over the world.

The Burmese Language Academy of Yangon (BLAY) is hiring Burmese language tutors to teach online and/or in-person classes.
At BLAY, a non-profit social enterprise, 100% of the profits we make go to fund Teach for ASEAN's educational programmes for disadvantaged youths who are residing in Karen State, Shan State, Rakhine State, Mon State, Kayah State, Irrawaddy Division, Bagan Division, Tanintharyi Division and Yangon Division.

Requirements:
-Strong proficiency in English
-Bachelor's degree holder
-Will be able to join at least 1 year with us
-Computer or Laptop and the internet to teach online (for online classes only)
-Minimum availability 2 times a week
-Friendly, open and loves to teach
-Interested in cultural exchange
-Willingness to learn Teach for ASEAN’s approaches to language learning
-Willingness to work for and support Teach for ASEAN's education programmes
-Experiences in communicating with foreigners
-Good to have experience working or attending school abroad but not limited to
-Good to have lesson plan-making experience
-Good to know Chinese, Korean, Thai, and Japanese (Optional)
