Pearl Sint holds a very special, yet poignant, place in the heart of the conservation world.

🐘 She and her brother, Kyaw Pearl, were a rare set of twin elephants born on August 26, 2024, to their mother, Pearl Sanda. The birth of elephant twins is extremely uncommon, making their arrival a moment of great celebration!

🐘 Tragically, her twin brother, Kyaw Pearl, passed away on July 6, 2025, after sustaining an injury from their mother accidentally stepping on him while protecting the twins from dog barks.

🐘 Pearl Sint is now a beautiful symbol of hope and resilience, surrounded by the dedicated staff who ensure her every day is filled with love and care.

📍The Wingabaw Elephant Conservation Camp is a vital sanctuary located in the Bago Region of Myanmar, roughly 90 kilometers north of Yangon.

🌳 This camp is dedicated to the care, rehabilitation, and conservation of elephants, including orphaned calves and those rescued from the timber industry. It provides a peaceful, natural environment where elephants can thrive and visitors can learn about the crucial importance of protecting these magnificent creatures.
