Congratulatory Statement and Prospects for Future Cooperation

On behalf of the United Council of Rohingya (UCR) and the approximately 1.2 million forcibly displaced Rohingya people temporarily sheltered in Bangladesh, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected candidates on your success in 13th Parliamentary election in Bangladesh.
Your electoral victory reflects the trust and sovereign mandate placed in you by the citizens of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The Rohingya community has witnessed this democratic process with deep respect and admiration for the strong commitment of the Bangladeshi people to democratic principles, constitutional governance, and the rule of law. We are also grateful to our community members for respecting the laws of Bangladesh and maintaining order by remaining inside the camps during the election period.
We take this opportunity to express our profound gratitude to the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and its citizens for their extraordinary humanitarian leadership in providing refuge to the Rohingya population. We are especially touched by the compassion and generosity demonstrated by host communities and people across the country who continue to stand in solidarity with us. This unwavering support from the people of Bangladesh gives us strength and hope during these challenging times.
As assume Bangladesh national responsibilities, we look forward to continued and constructive engagement with the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in addressing the Rohingya crisis with renewed commitment and urgency, We respectfully seek Bangladesh continued support in ensuring our safety, dignity and access to essential humanitarian services while we remain under the protection of Bangladesh.
At the same time, we firmly believe that the Rohingya crisis is not solely a national concern for Bangladesh, but also a matter related to regional stability, international peace, justice and human rights. We sincerely hope that elected government will continue to strengthen diplomatic engagement with the international community to facilitate the safe, voluntary, dignified and sustainable repatriation of the Rohingya people to Myanmar, our homeland.
We wish you wisdom, strength and success in serving the nation and advancing the prosperity of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The Rohingya community remains deeply grateful to Bangladesh and hopes for a future where we may return to our homeland with honour, security and dignity.
