A 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia this week, causing significant damage and affecting communities across the region.

Our W.A.T.A. communities in La Guajira were not directly affected, but Colombia has become a big part of what we’re building. We already have work underway there, including another clean water project planned for October, and we have a growing network of partners, friends, and community leaders throughout the country.

Right now, we want to find a way to help the communities affected by the earthquake.

We’re working through our local connections to find a route into these communities and figure out how W.A.T.A. can mobilize support on the ground. While we work on making that happen, funds raised for Colombia during this time will go toward supporting our earthquake response.

This year, to celebrate World Water Day (3/22), we partnered with Backyard Bowls on something special: a Blue Bowl and Blue Smoothie supporting clean water throughout the entire month of March.💧

Every blue order contributed to the fundraiser, and together we raised $2,000!! This helps provide clean drinking water to 40 families, or more than 200 people.

The funds went toward our recent work in Guatemala, supporting the filters we distributed and the program we’re continuing to build alongside local families, our partners, and student Ambassadors.

We’re so grateful to the entire Backyard Bowls team for believing in what we’re building, sharing the mission with their community, and finding a creative way to be part of it.

And thank you to everyone who ordered a Blue Bowl or Blue Smoothie and helped make this possible. 💙

We went to La Guajira to help provide clean water and we came home with a way to provide even more!

For World Water Day 2026, we spent four days in La Guajira, Colombia, working alongside One Thread Collective to bring 150 water filters to 150 Wayuu families part of their artisan network.

As we wrapped up our first day, a Wayuu woman walked over and placed a handwoven mochila in Cyrus Maroofian hands. Then another and then another.

They said they gave them to us to help “recoup costs”, but we saw an opportunity to do even more: sell them to fund water filters for even more families.

So that’s what we’re doing! Introducing the Woven Together - Wayuu Mochila Collection: handwoven, one-of-a-kind bags made by Wayuu artisans in La Guajira.

Every mochila is $50, and every purchase funds a water filter for another family.

And yes, they’re perfect as a bag, but also as a chalk bag if you climb, a camera or film bag, a jewelry or makeup bag, or whatever else you can think of. However you carry it, you’re carrying a piece of Wayuu artistry and being part of a worldwide impact.

This collection is the first of many ways we hope to connect communities around the world, sharing the culture, craft, and stories of the people we work alongside, not only the water we help deliver.

⚽️ Introducing the W.A.T.A. Cup Collection💧

With the World Cup bringing people together from every corner of the globe, we thought it’d be fun to create our own collection inspired by the countries and communities that have become part of W.A.T.A.’s journey.

It’s our way of tapping into the stoke of the World Cup while celebrating the places we’ve had the privilege of working alongside over the years.

From the volcanoes of Guatemala and the rice terraces of Vietnam to the deserts of La Guajira, the Pacific coastline of El Salvador, the beaches of Myanmar, and the landscapes of Thailand, each jersey is inspired by the people, places, and cultures that continue to shape our mission.

Every jersey is available in both Home and Midnight editions, with additional colorways and versions planned if people are interested in the collection!

Every jersey purchased helps fund one water filter, making this a fun way to celebrate the World Cup while helping expand access to clean drinking water around the world.
