AISANA is an independent registered non-government and nonprofit civil society organization based at Rakhine State. AISANA prime motto is to foster peace and sustainable development in Rakhine State.
On the 1st of January 2020, a group of educated, dynamic and like-minded social workers working in community development sector, got together to establish an organization, for addressing the most urgent and pressing needs of the people of Rakhine State. True to this spirit the organization was named as AISANA.
Before establishing this organization, the founders of AISANA carried a range of interventions in the areas of emergency response & preparedness, youth & women empowerment, agricultural awareness, heritage & environment protection awareness, networking etc. in cooperation with local authorities, civil society organizations and, national and international NGOs.
The founders of AISANA have more than five years of experiences as social workers working in different kinds of activities and organizations. They deeply understand the actual needs of all communities living in Rakhine State and so AISANA was founded with the strong beliefs that the can serve more for their communities by means of this organization.
AISANA strongly believed that their community can be transformed in to peaceful and developed state by the cooperation of the government sector, community sector, business sector and, national and international non-governmental organizations. So, AISANA as a community based organization , always opens the door to cooperate with any organizations interested in peace and sustainable development in Rakhine State. And the focus of AISANA is not limited by the sector or geography.

Mission
The mission of AISANA is to improve and upgrade all communities living in Rakhine State based on advocacy, trainings, research, technical assistance and networking in areas of heritage and environment protection awareness, education , peace and development , disaster risks in Rakhine State.
Overall Objective
The overall development objective of AISANA is enhanced ability in the target communities to tackle their own peace, economic, social and environmental problems for sustainable community development.
1. To educate the deprived and under privilege common folk about the basic human rights and find basis to incorporate their efforts and mobilization to achieve maximum output.
2. To enable the community in development of local level institutions and assist them in undertaking community based welfare and development interventions.
3. Promote Gender equality.
4. To devise and organize for women and youths particularly to their rights to acquire educations and job opportunities.
5. To ensure full participation of local level grassroots organizations in decision making process including problem identification, planning, management, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation aimed at sustainability.
6. To facilitate easy access to small enterprise development and income generating activities aimed at economic empowerment.
7. To work for environmental protection, pollution abatement, disaster risks and water supply.
8. To fight against drug abuse and launching programs aimed at rehabilitation of drug addicts.
9. To establish a resource center aimed at facilitating target communities and local level institutions through information, education and communication.
10. Assisting communities in disaster prediction and mitigation through various relief and rehabilitation programs.
11. To develop effective linkages with government line agencies, nongovernment organizations, and donor agencies working for community development and for the well beings IDP population in Rakhine State.
12. Human resource development and training aimed at skill enhancement and knowledge up gradation in order to ensure better implementation of participatory rural development programs by community partners.
13. Conservation of natural resources, bio-diversity and environmental protection.
14. Implementation of women welfare and development programs aimed at socio-economic empowerment of women through their participation in all developmental programs.
15. Raising awareness of environmental issues through advocacy, networking, public interest litigation and education.
16. Organizing issue-specific and objective-oriented campaigns building social pressure to influence decision-making at national and international levels in favor of deprived, marginalized and vulnerable segments of the community.
17. To raise awareness on cultural heritage of Mrauk-U and make preparations for the tourism-centered developments in Rakhine State.
