The Story of Us
United Youth Institute is a community-based organization established by six innovative youths who came from particular parts of Myanmar who are educated and trained in the United States under Southeast Asia Youth Leadership Program. The organization was launched with the determination of those youth leaders to invest their unique competencies for empowering youths to unleash their underlying potentials. The organization stands for the teenagers in different regions emphasizing multiculturalism and diversity for peace development. It also focuses on upgrading the leadership and interpersonal skills, mind competency and community spirit of youths especially the high school students and high school graduate students.
United Youth Institute was embarked on with the mission to bring youths out of their formal classrooms, beyond the prescribed texts and link them to the real world from where they can learn about how to stand out in their life battles. There is an inner flame in such students which can burn down all the barriers blocking them to their dreams and we are willing to initiate their inner flames. So, our projects are aspired to develop a growth mindset in youths and know their special capacity in their underlying self and how to make best use of it.
April, 2018 United Youth Institute was initially founded as a follow-on project of 2018 Southeast Asia Youth Leadership Program - SEAYLP18 . Being funded by the Northern Illinois University, Center for Southeast Asian Studies and US Department of States, UYI was embarked on with our first project - Recycle Playground Project & United Youth Leadership Initiative Program.
February, 2019 With the intention to fuel our endeavor with high acceleration, the core team has been reformed with new talents around the country. Our reformation plan will be implemented within 5 months.
