တိုက်မှုဖြစ်ပွား – ၁ ဦး သေဆုံးပြီး ၁၆ ဦး ဒဏ်ရာရ

ဘာလင် Pride (Berlin Pride) ပွဲတော် လုံခြုံရေးအတွက် ရဲအရာရှိ ၂,၂၀၀ ကျော် တာဝန်ယူ စောင့်ရှောက်ပေးနေသည့်ကြားမှပဲ ၂၀၂၆ ခုနှစ်၊ ဇူလိုင်လ ၂၅ ရက် (စနေနေ့) ည ၁၀ နာရီခန့် မတိုင်မီမှာ အဖြူရောင် ဗင်ကားတစ်စီးဟာ Tiergarten ပန်းခြံအတွင်းရှိ လူအုပ်ထဲကို အဟုန်နဲ့ မောင်းနှင်ဝင်ရောက်လာခဲ့ပါတယ်။

More than 2,200 police officers were on duty to protect Berlin Pride on Saturday. Just before 10pm, a white van drove into the crowd in Tiergarten park.

One woman was killed. Sixteen other people were injured, several of them critically. The van came to a stop against a tree and the driver ran. Police have since said that not all of the injuries were caused by the vehicle, and that part of the investigation is still open.

It happened beside the Christopher Street Day closing party by the Brandenburg Gate, with a band still on stage. The event was called off around 10:15pm. Hours earlier, roughly 80 trucks had rolled through the city and hundreds of thousands of people had lined the route for one of the biggest Pride celebrations in Europe.

Police have named the suspect only as Abdul B, a 21-year-old they say is known to them as part of Berlin's Islamist scene and who was released from youth detention in May.

Officers searched an apartment in Schöneberg, the neighborhood that has been the heart of Berlin's gay life for a century, and found it empty. No motive has been given, and the manhunt is ongoing.

Chancellor Friedrich Merz called it an attack on German society. Berlin mayor Kai Wegner said the city of freedom had its freedom attacked. Julian Miethig, who was at the festival, put it more plainly: "It's a dark day for the community."

Ten years ago last month, 49 people were killed at Pulse in Orlando. The distance between a dance floor in Florida and a park in Berlin turns out to be very short.

Earlier this year, dozens of human rights defenders, government representatives, and forcibly displaced people gathered to launch the Q***r Forced Displacement Network (QFDN).

The coalition aims to elevate the voices of those most impacted by the ongoing crisis. "This network exists because the people who understand that best are the ones who have lived it, and we intend to be in the room where the decisions get made about us," said co-chair Ryan Figueiredo.

Campaign Closing

Pride Month has come to an end. Our demand has not.

Over the past month, "No Pride Behind Bars" has become more than a campaign. It became a collective act of care, remembrance, and resistance.

To every organizer, volunteer, participant, artist, human rights defender, partner organization, ally, and every individual who shared our posts, amplified our voices, and stood with us--thank you. What began with a small team grew into a movement of solidarity that crossed borders and reminded our community that they are not alone.

Together, we called for the immediate and unconditional release of LGBTQIA+ political detainees in Myanmar. Together, we remembered the q***r lives taken by violence, persecution, and injustice. Together, we reminded the world that Pride is not complete while our q***r siblings remain behind bars.

But our work does not end with the calendar.

As long as q***r people remain imprisoned because of who they are or what they believe...

As long as q***r lives continue to be threatened by violence and oppression...

As long as justice remains out of reach...

Our voices must continue.

We ask you not to let this campaign end as another Pride Month memory.

Continue telling their stories.

Continue speaking their names.

Continue amplifying their voices.

Continue standing beside Myanmar's LGBTQIA+ communities.

Let this campaign be the beginning of sustained solidarity—not the end of it.

Please do not forget our q***r siblings.
