Civil society organizations are denouncing the introduction of a mandatory 10% tax that the government intends to impose on them. According to them, such a measure could have worrying consequences, as several donors and international NGOs may withdraw from Mali and suspend their operations in the country.

Selon elles, une telle mesure pourrait entraîner des conséquences préoccupantes, car plusieurs bailleurs de fonds ainsi que des ONG internationales risquent de se retirer du Mali et de suspendre leurs interventions dans le pays.

The 2026 Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) was officially launched on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Amid multiple and persistent crises in Mali, the humanitarian community is seeking to mobilize US$577.9 million to provide life-saving assistance to 3.8 million people, out of the 5.1 million currently in need across the country.
📊 Key figures highlight the scale of the challenges:
☑️ Over 415,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs)
☑️ Nearly 250,000 refugees hosted in Mali
☑️ Thousands of schools closed
☑️ Food insecurity projected to affect up to 4 million people in 2026
Access to education, protection, healthcare, clean water, and food assistance remains a critical priority for millions of children, women, and vulnerable families.

Le Plan de Réponse Humanitaire 2026 a été officiellement lancé le jeudi 5 février 2026.
Face à des crises multiples et persistantes au Mali, la communauté humanitaire prévoit de mobiliser 577,9 millions de dollars US afin d’apporter une assistance vitale à 3,8 millions de personnes, parmi les 5,1 millions actuellement en situation de besoin.
📊 Des chiffres qui témoignent de l’ampleur des défis :
☑️ Plus de 415 000 personnes déplacées internes
☑️ Près de 250 000 réfugiés accueillis au Mali
☑️ Des milliers d’écoles fermées
☑️ Une insécurité alimentaire pouvant affecter 4 millions de personnes en 2026
Dans ce contexte, l’accès à l’éducation, la protection, la santé, l’eau potable et l’alimentation demeure un enjeu vital pour des millions d’enfants, de femmes et de familles vulnérables.

😭Aujourd’hui, le monde pleure 😭le décès du pape François.

Il a inspiré des millions de personnes, bien au-delà de l’Église catholique, avec son humilité et son amour si pur pour les moins fortunés.

Mes pensées vont à tous ceux qui ressentent cette perte profonde.

Puissent-ils trouver du réconfort dans l’idée que l’héritage du pape François continuera de nous guider tous vers un monde plus juste, plus pacifique et plus compatissant.

The NGO ACA-Mali took part in the official launch of the Project to Support the Decentralization of Education in Mali (PADEM): 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐝𝐞 𝐥’𝐞́𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝 𝐚 ... 𝐩𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐞𝐧𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐝𝐮 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐢 this Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the Sheraton Hotel in Hamadallaye ACI 2000.
This concerted action between the European Union and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of National Education offers a holistic and integrated response to the challenges of the Malian education sector, combining interventions at different levels (local and national) and addressing issues of access, quality, governance, and school health, incorporating several innovations. The official launch was chaired by the National Director of Education, representing the Minister of National Education, alongside the Ambassador of the European Union, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the President of the Special Delegation of Commune 4, and the Country Director of Save the Children in Mali, representing the consortium of four implementing NGOs, including AMSS (Malian Association for Survival in the Sahel), CAEB (NGO), and Cordaid in West Africa.
This large-scale project, costing €20 million, will run for four years and will benefit 120,000 children in 23 communes in the Kayes, Sikasso, and Koulikoro regions, and the Bamako district.
PADEM is intended to be a set of innovative pilot practices, the analysis of whose results will help build a profile of quality education, serving Mali's socioeconomic development. The NGO ACA-Mali wishes its sister organizations every success with this project.
