Une délégation de l’Institut Culturel Afro-Arabe de Bamako, conduite par son Directeur Général, Son Excellence l’Ambassadeur Mohamed Ben Youssef, a participé, dans la matinée du vendredi 22 mai 2026, à la cérémonie de clôture de la Semaine de l’Afrique organisée au siège de l’UNESCO à Paris.

La cérémonie s’est déroulée en présence de Madame Judith Suminwa Tuluka, Première Ministre de la République démocratique du Congo, du Directeur général de l’UNESCO, le Dr Khaled El-Enany, ainsi que de plusieurs ministres, ambassadeurs accrédités auprès de l’UNESCO et hauts responsables africains.

En marge de cet événement, le Directeur Général de l’Institut a eu un entretien avec le Directeur général de l’UNESCO, qui a réaffirmé son soutien à l’Institut et son attachement à l’établissement d’une coopération conjointe dans les domaines de la culture, des arts et du patrimoine afro-arabe commun.

Son Excellence l’Ambassadeur Mohamed Ben Youssef a également eu un échange avec Madame Yolande Elebe Ma Ndembo, Ministre de la Culture, des Arts et du Patrimoine de la République démocratique du Congo. Les discussions ont porté sur les perspectives de coopération entre l’Institut, le ministère ainsi que les institutions et structures culturelles qui lui sont rattachées.

La participation de l’Institut Culturel Afro-Arabe à cette importante manifestation continentale illustre son engagement croissant en faveur du dialogue culturel, du renforcement des partenariats afro-arabes et de la valorisation du patrimoine commun sur la scène internationale.

A delegation from the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute in Bamako, led by its Director General, Ambassador Mohamed Ben Youssef, participated on Friday morning, 22 May 2026, in the closing ceremony of Africa Week at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.

The event was attended by the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ms. Judith Suminwa Tuluka, UNESCO Director-General Dr. Khaled El-Enany, alongside ministers, ambassadors accredited to UNESCO, and senior officials from several African countries.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, the Director General of the Institute held discussions with the Director-General of UNESCO, who reaffirmed his support for the Institute and expressed his commitment to establishing joint cooperation initiatives in the fields of culture, arts, and shared Africa-Arab heritage.

Ambassador Mohamed Ben Youssef also held a bilateral exchange with Ms. Yolande Elebe Ma Ndembo, Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Their discussions focused on potential avenues of cooperation between the Institute and the Ministry, as well as its affiliated cultural institutions and structures.

The participation of the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute in this major continental event reflects its growing commitment to fostering cultural dialogue, strengthening Africa-Arab partnerships, and promoting a shared cultural heritage on the international stage.

Une délégation de l’Institut Culturel Afro-Arabe de Bamako, conduite par son Directeur Général, Son Excellence l’Ambassadeur Mohamed Ben Youssef, a tenu, dans la matinée du vendredi 22 mai 2026, une rencontre de haut niveau avec Madame Diana Ramarohetra, Directrice de la langue française dans la diversité culturelle francophone, au siège de l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) à Paris.
Cette rencontre s’inscrit dans le cadre des efforts continus de l’ICAA visant à renforcer ses partenariats institutionnels et à élargir les perspectives de coopération culturelle et intellectuelle avec les grandes organisations internationales. Les échanges ont porté sur les possibilités de collaboration stratégique entre l’ICAA et l’OIF dans plusieurs domaines prioritaires, notamment la jeunesse, l’innovation et la créativité artistique au sein des États arabes et africains membres de la Francophonie.
Les deux parties ont souligné l’importance de promouvoir le dialogue interculturel et de soutenir des initiatives capables de valoriser le rôle des jeunes ainsi que celui des industries créatives dans le développement culturel durable de l’espace francophone.
Cette rencontre témoigne également d’une volonté commune de promouvoir la diversité culturelle et de consolider les passerelles de coopération entre les institutions africaines et arabes œuvrant au sein de la Francophonie.

A delegation from the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute in Bamako, led by its Director General, Ambassador Mohamed Ben Youssef, held a high-level meeting on Friday morning, 22 May 2026, with Ms. Diana Ramarohetra, Director of the French Language within Francophone Cultural Diversity, at the headquarters of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) in Paris.
The meeting formed part of the AACI’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional partnerships and expand avenues of cultural and intellectual cooperation with leading international organisations. Discussions focused on the development of strategic collaboration between the AACI and the OIF across a number of priority sectors, with particular emphasis on youth empowerment, innovation, and artistic creativity within the Arab and African member states of La Francophonie.
Both parties underscored the importance of fostering intercultural dialogue and supporting initiatives capable of enhancing the role of young people and creative industries in promoting sustainable cultural development across the Francophone world.
The exchange also reflected a shared commitment to encouraging cultural diversity and reinforcing cooperation between African and Arab institutions operating within the broader Francophone space.

شارك وفد المعهد الثقافي الأفريقي العربي بباماكو برئاسة مديره العام السفير محمد بن يوسف في حفل اختتام الأسبوع الأفريقي باليونسكو بباريس صباح بوم الجمعة 22 ماي 2026 وذلك بحضور رئيسة الوزراء لجمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية السيدة جوديت سومينوا تولوكا ومدير عام منظمة اليونسكو د. خالد العناني وعدد من الوزراء والسفراء المعتمدين لدى اليونسكو وكبار المسؤولين من الدول الأفريقية.
وقد كان للمدير العام لقاء مع مدير عام اليونسكو الذي أكد دعمه للمعهد وحرصه على إقامة تعاون مشترك في مجالات الثقافة والفنون والتراث المشترك العربي الأفريقي.
كما كان لمدير المعهد محادثة جانبية مع السيدة يالندي ندمبو، وزيرة الثقافة والفنون والتراث بجمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية تناولت مجالات التعاون الممكنة بين المعهد والوزارة المنغولية والمؤسسات والهياكل التابعة لها.

أجرى وفد المعهد الثقافي الأفريقي العربي بباماكو برئاسة مديره العام السفير محمد بن يوسف لقاء صباح يوم الجمعة 22 ماي 2026 مع السيدة ديانا راماروهترا، مديرة اللغة الفورنسية في التنوع الثقافي الفرنكوفوني وذلك بمقر المنظمة الدولية للفرنكوفونية بباريس.
وتركزت المحادثة على امكانيات التعاون بين المعهد والمنظمة في مجالات عدة ولاسيما في مجال الشباب و الابتكار والابداع الفني في الدول العربية والأفريقية الاعضاء في المنظمة الدولية للفرنكوفونية.

Le siège de UNESCO à Paris a récemment accueilli une délégation de haut niveau de l’Institut Culturel Afro-Arabe, conduite par Son Excellence l’Ambassadeur Mohamed Ben Youssef, Directeur Général de l’Institut, dans le cadre d’une visite officielle visant à renforcer les partenariats culturels, éducatifs et institutionnels entre les deux organisations.
Le jeudi 21 mai 2026, la délégation a tenu plusieurs rencontres de haut niveau avec des responsables de l’UNESCO, notamment Son Excellence l’Ambassadeur Mohamed El Farnawani, Directeur du Secteur Priorité Afrique et Relations extérieures, Madame Khadija Zemouri, Directrice des conférences, des langues et des documents au sein du Secteur de l’administration et de la gestion, ainsi que Monsieur Mohamed Gomaa Mohamed, Chef de l’Unité Afrique au Centre du patrimoine mondial relevant du Secteur de la culture.
Ces échanges ont permis de réaffirmer l’importance stratégique de la coopération avec l’UNESCO, reconnue pour son expertise internationale dans les domaines de l’éducation, de la culture et du patrimoine. Les discussions ont porté sur plusieurs axes de collaboration entre l’Institut et l’Organisation, notamment la préservation et la traduction des manuscrits, l’impression et la publication d’œuvres culturelles arabes et africaines, ainsi que le développement de programmes d’enseignement de la langue arabe dans les pays africains.
Les deux parties ont également examiné les perspectives de mise en œuvre de programmes de formation dédiés à l’écriture des langues africaines en caractères arabes, ainsi que des initiatives visant au renforcement des capacités humaines et au développement des compétences à travers le continent africain.
Au cours de ces rencontres, Son Excellence l’Ambassadeur Mohamed Ben Youssef a souligné l’importance d’associer l’Institut Culturel Afro-Arabe au plan d’action de l’UNESCO relatif à la Priorité Afrique (2022-2029), mettant en avant le rôle que l’Institut peut jouer dans la promotion des initiatives culturelles et éducatives en faveur du continent africain.
En marge de cette visite à Paris, la délégation de l’Institut Culturel Afro-Arabe a également été reçue par le Professeur Chawki Abdelamir, Directeur Général de l’Institut du Monde Arabe, au siège de l’institution. Cette rencontre a permis d’explorer de nouvelles perspectives de coopération entre les deux institutions, notamment dans les domaines de la promotion, de l’enseignement et du soutien de la langue arabe dans les pays africains.
À travers cette visite, l’Institut Culturel Afro-Arabe réaffirme sa volonté de consolider les passerelles de coopération internationale, de promouvoir le dialogue interculturel et de contribuer à la valorisation du patrimoine culturel et linguistique africain et arabe.

The UNESCO headquarters in Paris recently welcomed a high-level delegation from the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute, led by Ambassador Mohamed Ben Youssef, Director General of the Institute, as part of an official visit aimed at strengthening strategic cultural and educational partnerships.
On Thursday, 21 May 2026, the delegation held a series of important meetings with senior UNESCO officials, including Ambassador Mohamed El Farnawani, Director of the Priority Africa and External Relations Sector; Ms. Khadija Zemouri, Director of Conferences, Languages and Documents within the Administration and Management Sector; and Mr. Mohamed Gomaa Mohamed, Head of the Africa Unit at the World Heritage Centre’s Culture Sector.
The discussions underscored the shared commitment of both institutions to deepening cooperation across a range of cultural, educational, and capacity-building initiatives. Particular attention was given to collaborative projects involving the preservation and translation of historical manuscripts, the publication of Arab and African cultural works, and the expansion of Arabic language education throughout African countries.
The meetings also explored specialized training programs focused on the use of Arabic script in writing African languages, alongside broader initiatives dedicated to strengthening human capital and educational development across the continent.
During the exchanges, Ambassador Mohamed Ben Youssef emphasized the importance of integrating the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute into UNESCO’s Operational Strategy for Priority Africa (2022–2029), highlighting the Institute’s potential contribution to advancing Africa-focused cultural and educational programs.
As part of the visit to Paris, the delegation also met with Professor Chawki Abdelamir, Director General of the Arab World Institute, at the Institute’s headquarters. The meeting focused on exploring new avenues of cooperation between the two institutions, particularly in promoting and supporting the Arabic language across African countries through joint educational and cultural initiatives.
The visit reflects the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute’s growing commitment to building international partnerships that foster intercultural dialogue, preserve shared heritage, and promote sustainable educational development throughout Africa and the Arab world.

في إطار زيارته إلى مقر منظمة الأمم المتحدة للتربية والعلوم والثقافة (اليونسكو) بباريس، أدى وفد المعهد الثقافي الإفريقي العربي برئاسة السفير محمد بن يوسف، مدير عام المعهد، يوم الخميس 21 مايو 2026 زيارة إلى كل من السفير محمد الفرنواني، مدير قطاع الأولويات الأفريقية والعلاقات الخارجية والسيدة خديجة زموري، مديرة المؤتمرات واللغات والوثائق (قطاع الإدارة والتنظيم) والسيد محمد جمعة محمد رئيس وحدة إفريقيا (مركز التراث العالمي، القطاع الثقافي). حيث جرى تأكيد أهمية التعاون مع المنظمة الدولية لما لها من خبرات واسعة.
وتناولت المباحثات أوجه التعاون بين المعهد ومنظمة اليونسكو في مجال صيانة وترجمة المخطوطات، الطباعة والنشر لأعمال ثقافية عربية وإفريقية، وتنظيم دورات تعليم اللغة العربية بالدول الإفريقية، وكذلك دورات تدريبية في كتابة اللغات الإفريقية بالحرف العربي، وتنمية القدرات البشرية بالدول الإفريقية.
كما أكد مدير عام المعهد، خلال هذه اللقاءات، على أهمية تشريك المعهد في خطة عمل اليونسكو الخاصة بأولوية إفريقيا (2022-2029).
كما أدى وفد المعهد الثقافي الإفريقي العربي برئاسة السفير محمد بن يوسف، مدير عام المعهد، الخميس 21 مايو 2026 زيارة إلى الأستاذ شوقي عبد الأمير، مدير عام معهد العالم العربي، بمقر المعهد بباريس. وذلك في إطار بحث سبل التعاون المشترك بين المعهد الثقافي الإفريقي العربي ومعهد العالم العربي.
وتناول اللقاء إمكانية فتح قنوات تعاون وشراكة بين الجانبين خاصة في مجال تعليم اللغة العربية ودعمها في الدول الإفريقية.

Le Dr Salim M. AlMalik, Directeur général de l’Organisation du Monde Islamique pour l’Éducation, les Sciences et la Culture (ICESCO), a reçu Son Excellence l’Ambassadeur Mohamed Ben Youssef, Directeur général de l’Institut Culturel Afro-Arabe (ICAA), le mardi 19 mai 2026, au siège de l’ICESCO à Rabat.
La rencontre a porté sur les voies et moyens de mise en œuvre du Protocole d’accord signé entre l’ICAA et l’ICESCO dans les domaines culturels, notamment en ce qui concerne la restauration des manuscrits, la protection du patrimoine et le renforcement de la présence de la langue arabe dans les pays africains, ainsi que l’écriture des langues africaines en caractères arabes.
Une visite des différents secteurs de l’Organisation a également été organisée au profit du Directeur général de l’ICAA, en particulier le Secteur de la Culture supervisé par le Ministre Dr Mohamed Zine El Abidine, le Secteur des Médias et de la Communication dirigé par l’ancien ministre égyptien Osama Heikal, ainsi que le Secteur de la Langue arabe placé sous la direction du Dr Anas Al Nuaimi.

Dr Salim M. AlMalik, Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), received Ambassador Mohamed Ben Youssef, Director-General of the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute (AACI), on Tuesday, 19 May 2026, at ICESCO Headquarters in Rabat.
The meeting addressed avenues for activating the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the AACI and ICESCO in the cultural fields, particularly with regard to manuscript restoration, heritage protection, and the promotion of the Arabic language in African countries, in addition to the writing of African languages using the Arabic script.
A tour was also organized for the Director-General of the AACI across the various sectors of the Organization, notably the Culture Sector supervised by Minister Dr Mohamed Zine El Abidine, the Media and Communication Sector headed by former Egyptian Minister Osama Heikal, and the Arabic Language Sector under the direction of Dr Anas Al Nuaimi.
