Son Excellence l’Ambassadeur Mohamed Ben Youssef, Directeur général de l’Institut culturel afro-arabe, a pris part à la 21e réunion du Comité de coordination du partenariat afro-arabe au niveau des hauts responsables, tenue au Caire le mercredi 5 août 2026. La réunion était coprésidée par la République d’Irak, présidente en exercice du Sommet arabe, et la République du Burundi, présidente en exercice du Sommet africain.

Les participants ont examiné plusieurs questions relatives au renforcement de la coopération afro-arabe, au suivi des recommandations du quatrième Sommet afro-arabe tenu à Malabo (Guinée équatoriale) en novembre 2016, ainsi qu’aux préparatifs des activités commémorant le 50e anniversaire du partenariat afro-arabe.

Au cours de la réunion, l’Ambassadeur Mohamed Ben Youssef est intervenu pour présenter un aperçu de la situation de l’Institut culturel afro-arabe à Bamako. Il a souligné la nécessité d’un soutien politique et financier accru afin de permettre à l’Institut d’accomplir pleinement sa mission et de mettre en œuvre ses programmes et projets culturels et artistiques dans les pays arabes et africains.

His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Ben Youssef, Director General of the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute, participated in the 21st Meeting of the Africa- Arab Partnership Coordination Committee at the Senior Officials’ level, held in Cairo on Wednesday, 5 August 2026. The meeting was co-chaired by the Republic of Iraq, Chair of the current Arab Summit, and the Republic of Burundi, Chair of the current African Summit.

The meeting reviewed a number of issues related to strengthening Africa -Arab cooperation, followed up on the recommendations of the Fourth Africa -Arab Summit held in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, in November 2016, and discussed preparations for activities marking the 50th anniversary of the Africa -Arab Partnership.

During the meeting, Ambassador Mohamed Ben Youssef delivered a statement presenting an overview of the current situation of the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute in Bamako. He emphasized the importance of providing sustained political and financial support to enable the Institute to effectively fulfil its mandate and implement its cultural and artistic programmes and projects across Arab and African countries.

مشاركة السفير محمد بن يوسف، مدير عام المعهد الثقافي الإفريقي العربي في الاجتماع 21 للجنة تنسيق الشراكة العربية الإفريقية على مستوى كبار المسؤولين برئاسة مشتركة من جمهورية العراق (رئاسة القمة العربية الحالية) وجمهورية بوروندي (رئاسة القمة الأفريقية الحالية) والمنعقد بالقاهرة اليوم الأربعاء 5 أوت - أغسطس 2026.
وناقش الاجتماع عددا من الموضوعات في مجالات التعاون العربي الإفريقي ومتابعة توصيات القمة العربية الإفريقية الرابعة المنعقدة بملابو- غينيا الاستوائية (نوفمبر 2016)، بالإضافة إلى الترتيب لعقد العديد من الفعاليات بمناسبة مرور 50 عاماً على تدشين الشراكة العربية الإفريقية.
وقد كان للسفير محمد بن يوسف مداخلة قدم فيها عرضاً موجزاً حول وضع المعهد الثقافي الإفريقي العربي بباماكو وسبل دعمه سياسياً ومادياً للقبام بدوره بشكل فعال وإنجاز مشاريعه وأنشطته في الدول العربية والإفريقية في مختلف المجالات الثقافية والفنية.

Son Excellence Monsieur Abdoulaye Diop, Ministre des Affaires étrangères et de la Coopération internationale de la République du Mali, a reçu ce mercredi 1er juillet 2026 Son Excellence l’Ambassadeur Mohammed Ben Youssef, Directeur général de l’Institut culturel afro-arabe.
Au cours de cette rencontre, les deux parties ont passé en r***e la situation de l’Institut ainsi que les moyens de renforcer l’appui qui lui est accordé, afin d’améliorer ses conditions de travail et de lui permettre de s’acquitter au mieux de sa mission culturelle et scientifique.
Les entretiens ont également porté sur les programmes et activités que l’Institut envisage de mettre en œuvre en République du Mali, notamment dans la ville de Tombouctou, dans le domaine de la sauvegarde et de la préservation des précieux manuscrits conservés dans cette cité historique ainsi que dans d’autres villes maliennes. Ces initiatives visent à contribuer à la préservation de ce patrimoine civilisationnel et à en promouvoir les valeurs culturelles et scientifiques au profit des générations futures.

His Excellency Mr. Abdoulaye Diop, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Mali, received today, Wednesday, 1 July 2026, His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed Ben Youssef, Director General of the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the situation of the Institute and discussed ways to strengthen the support provided to it, with a view to improving its working conditions and enabling it to carry out its cultural and scientific mission in the best possible manner.
The discussions also addressed the programmes and activities that the Institute intends to implement in the Republic of Mali, particularly in the city of Timbuktu, in the field of safeguarding and preserving the valuable manuscripts housed in this historic city and other Malian cities. These efforts aim to contribute to the preservation of this civilizational heritage and to promote its cultural and scholarly value for future generations.

استقبل معالي السيد عبدولاي ديوب، وزير الشؤون الخارجية والتعاون الدولي بجمهورية مالي، اليوم الأربعاء الموافق 01 يوليو 2026، سعادة السفير محمد بن يوسف، المدير العام للمعهد الثقافي الإفريقي العربي.
وخلال اللقاء، استعرض الجانبان أوضاع المعهد وسبل مزيد دعمه بما يسهم في تحسين ظروف العمل وتمكينه من الاضطلاع بمهامه الثقافية والعلمية على الوجه الأمثل.
كما تناولت المباحثات البرامج والأنشطة التي يعتزم المعهد تنفيذها في جمهورية مالي، ولا سيما في مدينة تمبكتو، وذلك في مجال صون وحفظ المخطوطات النفيسة التي تزخر بها هذه المدينة التاريخية وغيرها من المدن المالية، بما يسهم في المحافظة على هذا الإرث الحضاري وتعزيز قيمه الثقافية والعلمية للأجيال القادمة.

Une délégation de l’Institut Culturel Afro-Arabe de Bamako, conduite par son Directeur Général, Son Excellence l’Ambassadeur Mohamed Ben Youssef, a participé, dans la matinée du vendredi 22 mai 2026, à la cérémonie de clôture de la Semaine de l’Afrique organisée au siège de l’UNESCO à Paris.

La cérémonie s’est déroulée en présence de Madame Judith Suminwa Tuluka, Première Ministre de la République démocratique du Congo, du Directeur général de l’UNESCO, le Dr Khaled El-Enany, ainsi que de plusieurs ministres, ambassadeurs accrédités auprès de l’UNESCO et hauts responsables africains.

En marge de cet événement, le Directeur Général de l’Institut a eu un entretien avec le Directeur général de l’UNESCO, qui a réaffirmé son soutien à l’Institut et son attachement à l’établissement d’une coopération conjointe dans les domaines de la culture, des arts et du patrimoine afro-arabe commun.

Son Excellence l’Ambassadeur Mohamed Ben Youssef a également eu un échange avec Madame Yolande Elebe Ma Ndembo, Ministre de la Culture, des Arts et du Patrimoine de la République démocratique du Congo. Les discussions ont porté sur les perspectives de coopération entre l’Institut, le ministère ainsi que les institutions et structures culturelles qui lui sont rattachées.

La participation de l’Institut Culturel Afro-Arabe à cette importante manifestation continentale illustre son engagement croissant en faveur du dialogue culturel, du renforcement des partenariats afro-arabes et de la valorisation du patrimoine commun sur la scène internationale.

A delegation from the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute in Bamako, led by its Director General, Ambassador Mohamed Ben Youssef, participated on Friday morning, 22 May 2026, in the closing ceremony of Africa Week at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.

The event was attended by the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ms. Judith Suminwa Tuluka, UNESCO Director-General Dr. Khaled El-Enany, alongside ministers, ambassadors accredited to UNESCO, and senior officials from several African countries.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, the Director General of the Institute held discussions with the Director-General of UNESCO, who reaffirmed his support for the Institute and expressed his commitment to establishing joint cooperation initiatives in the fields of culture, arts, and shared Africa-Arab heritage.

Ambassador Mohamed Ben Youssef also held a bilateral exchange with Ms. Yolande Elebe Ma Ndembo, Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Their discussions focused on potential avenues of cooperation between the Institute and the Ministry, as well as its affiliated cultural institutions and structures.

The participation of the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute in this major continental event reflects its growing commitment to fostering cultural dialogue, strengthening Africa-Arab partnerships, and promoting a shared cultural heritage on the international stage.

Une délégation de l’Institut Culturel Afro-Arabe de Bamako, conduite par son Directeur Général, Son Excellence l’Ambassadeur Mohamed Ben Youssef, a tenu, dans la matinée du vendredi 22 mai 2026, une rencontre de haut niveau avec Madame Diana Ramarohetra, Directrice de la langue française dans la diversité culturelle francophone, au siège de l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) à Paris.
Cette rencontre s’inscrit dans le cadre des efforts continus de l’ICAA visant à renforcer ses partenariats institutionnels et à élargir les perspectives de coopération culturelle et intellectuelle avec les grandes organisations internationales. Les échanges ont porté sur les possibilités de collaboration stratégique entre l’ICAA et l’OIF dans plusieurs domaines prioritaires, notamment la jeunesse, l’innovation et la créativité artistique au sein des États arabes et africains membres de la Francophonie.
Les deux parties ont souligné l’importance de promouvoir le dialogue interculturel et de soutenir des initiatives capables de valoriser le rôle des jeunes ainsi que celui des industries créatives dans le développement culturel durable de l’espace francophone.
Cette rencontre témoigne également d’une volonté commune de promouvoir la diversité culturelle et de consolider les passerelles de coopération entre les institutions africaines et arabes œuvrant au sein de la Francophonie.

A delegation from the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute in Bamako, led by its Director General, Ambassador Mohamed Ben Youssef, held a high-level meeting on Friday morning, 22 May 2026, with Ms. Diana Ramarohetra, Director of the French Language within Francophone Cultural Diversity, at the headquarters of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) in Paris.
The meeting formed part of the AACI’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional partnerships and expand avenues of cultural and intellectual cooperation with leading international organisations. Discussions focused on the development of strategic collaboration between the AACI and the OIF across a number of priority sectors, with particular emphasis on youth empowerment, innovation, and artistic creativity within the Arab and African member states of La Francophonie.
Both parties underscored the importance of fostering intercultural dialogue and supporting initiatives capable of enhancing the role of young people and creative industries in promoting sustainable cultural development across the Francophone world.
The exchange also reflected a shared commitment to encouraging cultural diversity and reinforcing cooperation between African and Arab institutions operating within the broader Francophone space.
