LAI is a think-tank established as a response to society’s grassroots needs for an alternative voice based on liberal activism. Founded in 2012 in Tetovo, Macedonia, it provides an innovative approach to already much discussed topics in the lights of democracy, good governance and social activism. The alternative LAI offers stems from the international experience of the founding members whose idea

s blend the western liberal thought with the traditional local values. The projects we will work on are driven by two main components: Inter-disciplinarity which brings together different disciplines that enhance each other in explaining an issue and providing a solution for it, and Multi-perspectivity which forms basis for unbiaseness and transparency.

Excellence in Economics: Maarif Students Shine at the National Economics Olympiad

We are proud to share the remarkable success achieved at the National Economics Olympiad in North Macedonia, held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at South East European University, where some of the country’s brightest high school students came together to showcase their knowledge and talent in economics.

Following a highly competitive regional stage involving 61 schools and more than 3,100 students, the top students from seven regions advanced to the national competition. Representing the Tetovo region, the results were outstanding:

🥇 First Place: Edon Abdullahi – Laptop Award
🥈 Second Place: Sara Ademi – Tablet Award

We are especially proud that seven students from Maarif Schools Tetovo Campus participated in the competition, with all seven ranking among the Top 16 students nationwide and earning their place in the national finals — an extraordinary accomplishment that reflects their hard work, determination, and academic excellence. 👏

The Olympiad also recognized the Best Coordinators and Mentors from each of the seven regions, honoring their dedication to guiding and inspiring young minds. We are delighted to celebrate Prof. Artë Maksuti of Maarif Schools Tetovo Campus, who was awarded Best Coordinator of the Tetovo Region for her exceptional mentorship and commitment to student success. 🌟

Congratulations to our students and mentor for this outstanding achievement. Your success is a source of pride for our school community and an inspiration for future generations to pursue excellence in economics and beyond.

Sukses i gjimnazit “Drita” në Olimpiadën Ekonomike shtetërore

Nxënësit e gjimnazit “Drita” nga Kërçovë morën pjesë në garat e Olimpiadës Ekonomike në nivel shtetëror, të organizuar nga Liberal Alternative Institute (LAI), duke shënuar rezultate të shkëlqyera. Në nivel rajonal, vendin e parë e fitoi nxënësja Adea Imeri, e cila u shpërblye me një laptop, ndërsa nxënësit e tjerë u nderuan me certifikata pjesëmarrjeje.

Po ashtu, një vlerësim i veçantë shkoi për profesoreshën Urime Limani, e cila u shpall koordinatore më e mirë në nivel rajonal. Ky sukses përfaqëson një dëshmi të qartë të cilësisë së punës dhe përgatitjes në Gjimnazin “Drita”, duke e renditur atë ndër institucionet më të suksesshme arsimore në vend.
