Are you entering your third or fourth year of high school this September? Join a selected group of 25 young people for five days of interactive learning, practical activities, group work and discussions, all conducted in English.

75 teachers. 3 cohorts. 40 hours of training. One academic year of continued learning and support. 📚

This August, the Teacher Training Program on Economic Pedagogy brings together 75 teachers from across North Macedonia at Hotel Scardus, Popova Šapka.

Organized in three cohorts — two in Macedonian and one in Albanian — the program combines four days of intensive on-site training with one day of online learning, completing 40 hours of initial training with our team of five trainers.

But the training in Popova Šapka is only the beginning.

Throughout the entire academic year, participating teachers will continue their professional development through our online learning platform, with:

• weekly mentoring sessions
• additional online lectures and trainings
• continuous professional support
• access to a comprehensive collection of didactic and teaching materials ready to be used in their classrooms

The goal goes beyond training 75 teachers. It is to build a strong community of educators equipped with the knowledge, methods and resources to make economics practical, engaging and relevant for students across North Macedonia.

The Teacher Training Program is organized by the Liberal Alternative Institute (LAI) and Economic Fundamentals Initiative (EFI), with the support of the Rising Tide Foundation and Atlas Network.

From the national competition to the international stage, our five outstanding students have represented North Macedonia at the International Round of the International Economics Olympiad 2026, held in the historic setting of Ancient Olympia, Greece. 🇬🇷

Over several intensive days, they put their knowledge, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to the test alongside talented young economists from around the world: competing, learning, exchanging ideas and building friendships across borders.

Reaching the international round is already an achievement to be proud of. Behind it are months of preparation, several stages of competition, and the dedication of students, teachers and everyone who continues to support the growth of economic education in North Macedonia.

We are proud to see our national team carrying the 🇲🇰 flag in Ancient Olympia and becoming part of a truly international community of young people passionate about economics.

👏 Congratulations to our students for representing North Macedonia with knowledge, commitment and ambition!
