Finland is pioneering a sustainable urban model by using new energy-efficient data centers to capture waste heat from servers.

This captured energy is then recycled to provide heating and hot water for surrounding city blocks, creating a closed-loop system that simultaneously addresses data's high energy demands and urban heating needs.

This approach significantly cuts fossil fuel dependency and positions Finland as a leader in turning industrial waste heat into a vital community resource.

The Central European Initiative - CEI is a regional intergovernmental forum established in 1989, following the fall of the Berlin wall. It gathers 17 Member States in Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. It supports a united Europe with shared values embracing all countries, regions, peoples and citizens; and fosters the strengthening of capacities of its Member States towards good governance, rule of law and sustainable economic development for stability, social cohesion, environmental sustainability, security and prosperity. It has one central mission: working towards European integration and sustainable development through regional cooperation.

We are satisfied that the Central European Initiative recognized and accepted the Association for regional development Balkan Economic Forum as a credible and reliable partner for jointly building a brighter future for the Balkan region.
