🪂 KRUSHEVO IS THE HEART OF EUROPEAN PARAGLIDING! 🌍✨
From August 8 to 19, Krushevo is proudly hosting the 18th FAI European Paragliding Championship, bringing together 130 elite pilots from 38 countries and around 200 participants, teams, and support crew!

📍 The main take-off point is set at the iconic Meckin Kamen, with competition tasks wrapping up across landing zones in the Pelagonija Valley, depending on wind and weather conditions.

This isn't just a major international sporting event—it's a celebration of Krushevo’s rich nature, culture, and outdoor tourism on a European stage.

⛰️ Building the future of adventure sports: Through the IPA CBC project "Krushevo and Elbasan, a Journey in Nature and Adventure", the development of local paragliding infrastructure keeps moving forward. Two brand-new take-off sites are being constructed at Crn Vrv, upgrading facilities for international competitions and active tourism.

And the season doesn't end there! Right after the European Championship, Krushevo will host the World Junior Paragliding Championship "Krushevo 2026" starting August 24.

🪂 New Paragliding Takeoff Site at Crn Vrv

As part of the KET Project, a new paragliding takeoff site is being developed at Crn Vrv in Општина Крушево/Municipality of Krusevo.

📍 Improved safety for pilots.
🌍 Better conditions for international competitions.
🏔️ Enhanced experience for paragliding enthusiasts and visitors.
🤝 Support for sustainable tourism and the local economy.

This investment strengthens Krushevo's position as one of Europe's leading paragliding destinations and supports the continued growth of adventure tourism.
The Project Krushevo and Elbasan—Journey in Nature and Adventure is funded by the European Union.

Funar Fest 2026 marked the launch of the second phase of the cross-border project “Krushevo and Elbasan – Journey in Nature and Adventure” under the IPA III Cross-Border Cooperation Programme between North Macedonia and Albania.

The event gathered visitors from Elbasan, other Albanian cities and international tourists, combining cultural activities, local products, live music, kayaking, camping and outdoor experiences that promoted Funar as a destination for nature and adventure tourism.

The second phase includes the construction of the Funar Adventure Park, new parking areas and 13 km of hiking and cycling trails. The project aims to strengthen sustainable tourism and improve regional infrastructure.

The mayors of Elbasan and Krushevo highlighted strong cross-border cooperation and continued EU support, emphasising joint efforts to develop tourism, create economic opportunities and connect communities across the region.
