🎓 Inauguration of New Classrooms at Vatolaivy Primary School

On 5 January 2026, Vatolaivy Primary School celebrated the official inauguration of four new classrooms and the head teacher’s office, made possible by the support of the Adsum Foundation and the generosity of a private donor. The ceremony brought together many local authorities, including a Member of Parliament, education officials, and community leaders. Pupils welcomed guests with traditional dances and songs before a series of speeches highlighting the importance of solidarity, community engagement, and education as a driver of development. Heartfelt thanks were expressed to the donors and to MDF, along with a strong message on the need to protect and maintain this valuable infrastructure for future generations. The event concluded with a visit to the new buildings and a community-organized meal, marking a moment of great hope and pride for the people of Vatolaivy.

✨ Clean Water, Dignity, and Progress for Mangazaka

On November 7th, Mangazaka celebrated a major step forward in access to clean water and hygiene! After receiving its first safe water system in 2018, MDF has now inaugurated a brand-new modern laundry facility to support women and girls who previously had to wash clothes in unsafe ponds and rice fields. Thanks to The Street Foundation and Mr. Bill Watts, the community now enjoys a covered washing area with clean running water and multiple basins 💧.

This project improves health, frees up valuable time for families, and helps more girls stay in school 👧📚. A meaningful step toward dignity, safety, and brighter opportunities for future generations 🌿.

A Generous Gift Bringing New Opportunities to EPP Amby🎁

Thanks to the generosity of the Adsum Foundation and a private donor, the 250 pupils of EPP Amby can now learn in a modern, fully equipped school building that provides a safer and more inspiring environment. The new facilities include three classrooms, with one dedicated to preschool, as well as a teachers’ office and a separate building containing three latrines. The Adsum Foundation also supplied educational toys, teaching materials, and school kits, ensuring every child has the tools they need to thrive.

Delivered in partnership with the Madagascar Development Fund, this initiative shows how generosity and commitment can transform education and bring new hope to children in rural Madagascar.🌱📚

Clean Water, Brighter Lives: Relief at Last for Antsampandrano 🌊

📍 Antsampandrano, rural commune of Amboanana, Itasy Region

After many years of hardship, the village of Antsampandrano finally has access to clean drinking water. Families no longer have to walk long distances to fetch water from unsafe sources.

Before this project, women and children spent hours each day collecting water under the scorching sun. Now, they can dedicate that time to school, family, and productive activities — a true turning point in their daily lives. Clean water brings health, dignity, and hope.

This project was made possible through the generous support of Assisting Children in Need (USA), the Rotary Club of Dunstable, and Mr. Bill Watts, in partnership with the Madagascar Development Fund (MDF).

The system includes a water catchment, a 12m³ reservoir, over 3,300 meters of pipeline, and new standpipes now serving more than 500 residents.

For Antsampandrano, the global goal of universal access to clean water by 2030 is no longer a dream — it’s a reality. 💙

🎉 Inauguration in Antsampanimahazo – Antsirabe II District

On 26 September, the village of Antsampanimahazo proudly celebrated the inauguration of two new school buildings, including a preschool, providing a total of three fully equipped classrooms.

Thanks to the generous support of our donors:
🏫 The first building was financed by Vanilla Corporation of America and The Street Foundation.
🎨 The preschool building was made possible through the contributions of Court Fields School and Friends of Hassocks Infant School.

With these new facilities — along with a newly built latrine — more than 500 pupils can now enjoy a safe, clean, and motivating learning environment.

On 25 September, the village of Mahazoarivo Sud, located in the district of Antsirabe, celebrated the inauguration of a new drinking water supply system, marking a major step forward in improving the daily lives of local residents.

For years, women and children were forced to use polluted water for laundry and washing, exposing them to serious health risks. Today, this is changing.

A modern public wash area with five sinks has been built, offering villagers a safer and more comfortable place to do their laundry and bathe. Access to the basin has been made easier thanks to the construction of stairs, while two water collection reservoirs (0.7 m³ and 1 m³) and two new standpipes now ensure a reliable water supply. In total, about 65 meters of piping were installed to make this system possible.

This new infrastructure benefits 1,500 residents of Mahazoarivo Sud and 300 pupils from nearby schools, providing them with clean, safe water and improving their hygiene and quality of life. Women and children, in particular, now spend less time fetching water and can focus more on educational, social, and economic activities.

👏 This achievement was made possible thanks to the generosity and commitment of Smart Pharma Consulting, a valued partner of the Madagascar Development Fund (MDF). With a total investment of 46,456,550 Ariary, this is the third WASH project successfully completed through our collaboration — a true testament to the power of partnership in bringing sustainable change to rural communities.

🇲🇬 New classrooms and Renewed Hope at EPP Tsianovana! 🎓

On September 17, 2025, the Public Primary School of Tsianovana proudly inaugurated its brand-new facilities, a true beacon of hope in these challenging times for Madagascar.

Thanks to the generous support of the Adsum Foundation and its partner JivinGym, the school now benefits from:

🏫 A new building with three classrooms, including one for preschool
👩‍🏫 A new teacher’s office
🚻 A three-compartment latrine block
🎒 School kits, educational toys, and teaching materials are worth nearly 5 million Ariary.

This project, with a total investment of 153 million Ariary, is part of MDF’s ongoing mission to improve learning conditions across Madagascar, a mission more vital than ever as the country faces serious economic and social challenges.

Amid these hardships, the smiles of the 130 students at EPP Tsianovana are a powerful reminder that education remains the key to a brighter future.

✨ On May 13, 2025, we inaugurated a new primary school in Amboara, rural Commune Imerintsiatosika.

This wonderful initiative was funded by the Adsum Foundation and JivinGym, and built in memory of Lucia McGrath.

The school already welcomes 150 eager students. We also provided all the necessary school materials and furniture to ensure a great learning environment. 📚
